High School in the late 60s I had a 55 Chevy post car with a 327, 11:1, Weiand cross ram with small AFBs, Crower Monarch solid lifter cam (310 .490), 456 gears. it ran very strong and I really don't recall any particular cold weather issues, even though I drove it every day. only problem I had was keeping the tank full a 4-5 MPG.
    I sure miss that car.

I know this is a really old post, but I just bought an intake exactly like this one for a sbc. The only marking it has it the M/T on it. No serial numbers, letters, etc. I was thinking of putting it in my 57 Chevy 210 Tradesman 4dr wagon. It has a 350ci from a 1972 Chevelle in it hooked to a 2 speed PowerGlide. :)

You know I'm not the kinda guy that will throw something like that down, then leave you hanging without anything to do***ent it, right? Sorry about the upside down thing, I am using my kids iPad, not real skilled with this thing. Do you actually have that intake? Pretty killer, I have never actually seen one in person!

Here is one I have not run yet for my big port 409. Do not know the date but the 409's stopped in early 1965. Gary PB070001.JPG PB070002.JPG PB070003.JPG

Shame shame FG upside down it says 69for men
    freudian slip...?
when i got my S.O. crate back from traco in LA
    ( i was working for chevy) so i bought a trans am-can am 302
-n- my cost was 840.60 gm (at the time) had a small racer program and
they sent it to traco for their comprehensive indexing -n- blueprint work,
    and dyno .
then they sent it to the dealership for me.
note with it said you could set the rpms at 7k and put a brick on the pedal
and go watch a double feature(4hours) movie and come back and it would still be
    in perfect cond.
the CROSS ram ran fine in the upper rpms a bit ruff on stoplight to stoplight,
so i changed to smaller holleys for a BIT more streetability.- and
wha Lah worked better for the STREET use i was into.

Roadster1927 I have one of those to try but just having mixed thoughts.
My combo is just for drag racing and I understand that the M/T is just a little better the the 881
I just have this way of wanting to make a big change not a small one.

Yes I had the the Ram Box...Bought it around 1980 for $200 out of Nebraska, pretty nice quality casting....Thinking more towards blower use but after having it for twenty plus years on the shelf I thought I should stick to a Torker style [The word "box" more like suit case] intake and doubted street use so sold it to a guy in CA for $485.00 in 2003...Bought a Parker Funnel Web for $125.00 off ebay to replace the vacancy on the shelf pretty tough looking for a single carb Torker type intake....:)[IMG]

The funnel web has a decent rep if it is going to see some rpm. Shortly after your cross-ram came out, Shelby came out with a single four hi-rise dual plane that the blue-thunder Cleveland intake is copied off. Man, I would love to have one of the Shelby badged dual planes for my Cleveland, but they really bring BIG $$ when they do occasionally come up for sale.
