i have a box from a F-1 that needed everything replaced including the upper bearing race thats pressed into the box. i was unable to get the race out without destroying the race so i have no numbers to go from. internals are the same in these boxes as 37-48 ford car or pickup.
i have a ford number for the race but napa couldnt cross is
the number is B-3552 . it fits 1929 to 48 car and i believe would be the same as the F-1 seeing they used the same worm 37-52. can anyone cross this number to a timken bowers ect number?

  3. That is a special application race, unlikely to be found elsewhere.

Very true. The bearing houses, who years ago could cross and supply anything, don't seem to handle those two piece ball bearing assemblies (caged balls plus separate outer race) that were specific to certain products-like cars, trucks, bicycles. They are usually found only under the O.E.M.'s part number in places that deal in obselete and obscure.
