They were kit form manifolds, popular for hemis. If you want something similiar try SaltFlatMatt, here on the hamb. He makes headers etc and has kit form intakes, nice ones.

Haven't heard of those in forever....They were a popular item, in the 50's and 60's at a good price. All you needed was a welder, and good welding skills to put one together.

they were very thin tubing like exhaust tube & the flanges were 1/4 in plate. braze was the best way to put them together so they didnt warp the flanges. Most ran 4 97s or 94s. mounted over the ports. Back in the day the hardest part was getting the carbs linked up to work together using bits of old junk yard linkage.

In my neighborhood of the time (Norwalk/Downey area, So Cal) the hot setup for linkages was the local "war surplus" stores.... Bell-cranks, to braided hoses, they were the place!

I'm curious... How bad do these intakes kill power compared to a cast multicarb intake? It doesnt seem like the log type intake manifold would be efficient at mixing air and fuel or distributing it well.

They were sold as race parts. Most cast manifolds of that day were pretty restrictive compaired to the fabed log type. All Crower did was sell you the cut out pieces to make the manifold. You can cut out your own and I agree with brazzing.

No I found it at a swap meet, but it would have been easier than getting it straightened out and leak free------ Gary:D:D

A Buick I Fab. It's no harder than making headers. Not as hard in fact.

I've had this since the 70's, always wondered if it was a Crower and this thread makes me think it is.

Can be made for anything with a seperate valley cover. Back when the OEM set up was a single 2 bl you could make up what you wanted. Have seen a Cunnigham 4X1 for the Hemi, but a twin log instead of single.
