lake county fair grounds located in crown point indiana. the jail dillinger broke out of is just a few miles north

One day only, closed to the public? I'd have gladly driven to Crown Point to see this display.
Look like fine quality cars. I'm over seeing beaters at outdoor shows.

Wow what a great mix of cars, i’ve never been to a show quite like that before! Everything from a spotless perfect 37 dump truck to a hemi cuda to a Duesenberg. Several drag cars, and Indy car. The only late model was a Viper. Auburn, Cord, Bugatti, Stutz,Ferrari, two old corvettes, several muscle cars, hemi,L78, former 440-6 now 426 hemi, supercharged Avanti, i’ll try to get more pics tomorrow.

 

Where's the bazillion belly button 32 Fords? This looks like a show i'd actually want to go to. Thanks for the pics. Have fun.

That looked like a really high-end show and your Corvette fit right in. Congrats on such a beautiful car.

 

Apparently my paint is high falutin, i’m the same ole dirt bag!

 

There are two model A’s but no 32’s unless one slipped in when i wasn’t looking. The coupe i posted a pic of It’s a beautiful build by a HAMB member. No rat rods either!

 

Love the Avanti and the one of one Studebaker woody wagon.

Wow, your Vette is in some great company and definitely belongs! Thanks for the pics, Carp. My high school pal, Bruce had an Uncle Gus, (quite a guy right from the old country) who bought a '63 Avanti R-2 brand new, much like one pictured. Had a few rides in that, I still Love 'em!!

 

The guy from "the Spin Doctors" could be Hot Rod historian Ken Gross' son ....

 

That's a great assortment of cars!! What a great building to have a show in. I wish I was closer.
