so when is the next cruise scheduled for?

  2. Is that the one on Brand Blvd? If so, it' sucks. I wouldn't give it another thought or mention. So, if it's the Brand Blvd, let's drop it already

Yes it is the one on Brand Blvd. Whether or not the Brand Blvd. show sucks I was just stating the fact that it was a night time show.

50 I think - yeah I was glad to get rid of it! Saw your Falcon out there on Wednesday - looks like a fun way to cruise on a summer night!

Hey Craig, your '40 IS badass. That photo really grabbed me when I saw it. Night street scene, bitchin' '40 on VN Bl. CRUISING--I mean, that hasn't happened in DECADES. Hell, I might make a photocopy of that picture and hang it on my garage wall.

I vote for 2nd Wednesday, however, my brother said the museum deal starts about 4:00 pm, so for those who really like to drive their cars, no reason you can't do the museum for a couple of hours and then head to Van Nuys. Or if July is the last museum deal, there is no conflict after that. Also want to chime in with everyone else who has said thanks and it was a welcome change to go to a cruise and actually cruise! Like vncruiser said, we build 'em to drive 'em. It's way more fun to drive 'em and see 'em being driven.

  12. actually to be exact I was there watching in horror as they barricaded Van Nuys and stopped the cruising (28 YEARS AGO. )

I've only been reading some subscribed threads in the HAMB for a few months, so I didn't know this Van Nuys Cruise thing was happening until a few days before the 10th. I was figuring that about 10 cars would show up, then a friend (Jim Grant) got a bunch of phone calls about it.

So we went. On the way I readjusted my estimate of the amount of cars I thought might be there up to 50 or so. Man, was *I* WRONG. And SURPRISED! This thing was HUGE!

I saw people I hadn't seen from years to multi-decades, some hadn't changed in 25 years, some were totally unrecognizable.

Over in the Ralphs parking lot were like 3 old Hearses parked together, one even had a casket in it! I was going to ask to look inside - but I was falling behind my buds, so I thought I'd save that peek for another day.

The cops were cool. Scott in a 55 Chev, with a blown 502, and grooved slicks, did a 3 foot "tire cleaning" in front of the Rydell lot, and the cops saw it and pulled him over. They could have caused him unlimited grief and impounded his car - but they said THEY used to cruise and let him off Scott free. Pun intended. :)

If another VN Cruise is set up, I've got a suggestion. Like Flo - the Progressive Insurance babe says "Big Tricked out *NAMETAGS* :)

My hat's off to VN Cruiser and the others that made this happen. It was quite the trip down memory lane and WAAAY COOL.

    Bob-
my place is pretty close....And I ALWAYS HAVE GOOD BOURBON. Or at least single Malt Scotch. About the only thing I complain about these days is little ice (they wheedle their way into yer mouth when yer tryin' do drink, dammit!). You're always welcome.
    'Nuff said.

Ok- I am officially calling the next cruise night for July the 8th...And every 2nd Wednesday of the month thereafter....
That should settle that matter......Any questions?

  20. right on! we need to make a flier and specify that this is a V.N.C.A event the people that put on the june 10th. cruise. and that it is the only cruise that rydell lot is going to be used for.

to many copy cat cruises coming up after we all did this one.

Ok, that Van Nuys cruise was a lot of fun. If that is how it used to be, then I am all over that. Good times.

Yea, I've noticed that. Its not really a show for or full of car people. Its a street fair for the normies that live in Glendale.

  24. Picture pockets of last weeks crowd in every nook and lot from just South of the 101 (where us Lowriders hung out at June Ellen's Donut/Hugh's Market lot), to the McDonalds just shy of Sherman way. "AND" my friends that cruised in the 60's said it went all the way past Roscoe then!!!! Also, the Police can be our friends. So, lets not be stupid out there. I'm gonna do all my burnouts on someone's lawn that I don't like before I get to the Blvd:D

Reid, can you please put me on your email list for that flyer and I will make sure it gets around here in the Santa Clarita Valley! We had a blast on Weds. June 10th and people are still talking about it and we're still "HIGH" off of the nostalgia!

    Nice seeing you last week.
My Chevelle and I are doing great! It's a CHEVY...what do YOU think?

We usually go for a looksie & end up at Damon's steakhouse drinking Mai Tais the rest of the show. Lots of Non Respectul car lookers. A friend of mine had his car in that show a couple of years ago. He parked his car and decided to go meet his friends. When he came back, there was some lady changing her baby's diapers in his car!!!!:eek:...I would NEVER bring any of my cars to that show....

July the 8th is the word!!

Thank you VNcruiser for taking the bull by the horns....

  28. I hear a lot of stories like that from that show. People really suck sometimes. I was at a show, and a mom/dad put their 2 kids in a friend's Model A truck. I yelled at them for bringing up their kids to be as big a disrespectful piece of shit as their parents. They looked at me like "I" was wrong. I just fucking HATE people sometimes. One night at Bob's some jackass was sitting on the hideaway headlite on my 64 Vette. I went ballistic on the guy. His friend had the balls to ask me if that was as nice as I could ask his friend to get off my car. I told him, pal, it only gets worse. Like Andrew Dice Clay asks. Were do they fucking grow these idiots? Now, back to our regular program, already in progress
