The motor's gone. I'm gonna start sanding it for paint (pearl base-coat) this week. I hope to have it running for the August cruise. It's "possible" for July, but not probable. Also, it will get whitewall "cheaters" and period wheels out back

 

Hey, anyone know the old van club that was there? I need to get a hold of those cats with the Ford Econolines.

some "mike shaw" is setting that up for the 18th... funny i saw that flyer around AFTER ours were circulated... 25th anniversary cruise? never heard of it...

Cool. Saw a bunch of cars I know. Damn I'm pissed I missed that. I'm gonna make the next one.

 

I'm so stoked that this was a sucess. It's way cool to have a cruising event instead of just a carshow so close to me. All the more reason to get my car back on the road!

 

yeah, I'm tired of the folding chair events. Cars are made to drive.

I'm working on stickers and t-shirts....Got a few logo's in mind...
By the way, I was next to you for a while going down the Blvd. ...if your '55 was painted 67 Camaro Ralley Green, It would look identical to my friends older brother's car back in the day...Radiused wheel wells, no front bumper...he hardly ever drove it though...When my buddy hit 16, we cruised the shit outta that car...Had a real deal L-88 bulilt by Richard Johnson at Fiasco Automotive, M-22 and 4:56 posi..And I can't figure out how all these squirrels in ricers kill themselves all the time...STUPID... My buddy, Dean, later had a '68 GTO with a blown 455 Olds (which later ended up in a tubbed '68 Chevelle), and a small block '75 Monza..."Monza Balls"...
Anyway....As I said before, I'm already looking into T-shirts and stickers........I've bought the domain name so I can get a web site up...Need that ever important logo...Coming soon to a street near you..And yea...Everyone can join...Strength in numbers!!

Yes cars are made to drive. Not to carry my lawn chair so I can sit my ass down and veg. at a static cruise. That's not what Van Nuys was about. It was about DRIVING my car, hanging with friends, cruising with other HOT cars, hitting on HOT girls, AND DRIVING MY CAR SOME MORE! I hope and I PRAY that more people cruise the Blvd. this time.
I waited 28 years for this to happen again. I'm going to cruise my ass off. I made so many passes last wednesday that my clutch pedal foot was numb. My led was shaking. I had to take a break, but when I was done, I cruised.
So let's hope that people get the message. This is not your normal static show. It's all about the cruise. You built it, now cruise it. Are you chicken, is that car too much for you? Prove it, cruise it.
