Geez, no burnouts I could understand, but not being able to rev your engine, I think some of the fun starts to get taken away at that point.

I am just trying to be helpful here. I am as upset about the issue as you are, and I fully agree that they are acting selfishly and childishly.

Confronting these people could very well lead to fights and other problems. Rydell won't want us on their lot if fights start beaking out. As bad as burnouts are to this, fights and loud confrontations will not help out the situation, and most probably, will only make things worse. It will only lead to police intervention and/or crack downs. I would suggest that they be schooled as to why this is not good for cruise night. However, don't push the issue. Let the police handle it.

A lot really depends on how loud your engine and exhaust sound are. Some of the cars are truly very loud. Also, it does depend on where you do it, too. Refraining from it in the parking lot, and other places near homes and/or apartments, is smart. In other words, just use plain old common sense.

  6. but common sense as we know is not so common.

  7. I don't think any amount of noise we can make ON the Blvd itself will get within earshot of anyone that might complain. I do think the BOOMing subwoofer action I heard in the lot can be a problem with those houses that are right behind it. That can easily be solved by closing the lot BEFORE the 10 O Clock noise curfew. Closing the lot before 10 also gives guys a chance to collect trash and still go cruising. I talked to Reid about that Sunday, and he seemed to like the idea and be in agreement

  8. Slow down with the Lynchmob thinking. That Mopar pissed that smoke from it's TAILPIPES all night long

    I'm guilty of posting those,
My buddy had a couple 55's back in the 60's one was a gasser ( White Lightnin ) and he liked your 55...as I did.

Great idea!!! This is definitely moving things in the right direction! Less of a crowd concentrated in one place, which allows for less of an audience to egg on burnouts, etc.

I have heard several people talking about this coming Wednesday and Saturday night. I know it's not a VNCA deal(at least I don't think it is). Has anyone else heard of this?

  15. This is another guy who did not know that the VNCA deal was a reoccurring deal. Myself and groucho are going. We're meeting on the BLVD to eat dinner first. Stay tuned to find out where. I learned that if Groucho picks it it's usually good, usually.
    Anybody else?

  16. I'll meet you guys there

  17. I'll let you know where we're going to eat and what time. Like to see you there. Bringing friends I hope?

see you guys there as well

  19. I'm wide open for ideas....When/where to meet ON THE BLVD for dinner before the cruising. If I remember, did that guy suggest In & Out Burger for "base camp"? Well, we can eat there. Just lemme know if I got it right, and if I'm right, when should we meet for burgers.....or any other suggestion;)

in n out sounds good to me...

the one closer to ventura blvd rite?

  21. I don't know of another that's on the Blvd, except for the one WAY North at or near the "plant". So, let's say yes to the one near Ventura Bl. Now, what time should we meet?

  22. as of today van nuys blvd south of oxnard is SHERMAN OAKS and not VAN NUYS anymore. now I think we will be running into some issues with the residents!

yes ive known the owner of this car for a while yes it was smoking like crazy since he just brought the car out of storage, its been sitting for a few years now.......

  26. read what you wrote, your the one that mentioned we should be quiet at the lot after 10 thats why i brought it up. those houses don't belong to the poor side of town anymore!

  27. Ok we meet at 6pm at IN N OUT closer to Ventura? Never beeen there.

  28. Are you really gonna make me type MORE about you NOT getting people paranoid because of a new city ordinance? YOU should re-read what I wrote. It's got NOTHING to do with Zoning, or what goes on on the actual Blvd.......but the noise imposed on the people in the houses RIGHT BEHIND THE RYDELL LOT regardless of what city they fall in! They're still the SAME people. You're wearing me out:mad:

At the Route 66 cruise last Sat. they had trash bags tied to the trees in the parking lot, and people were using them. Maybe at Rydel's lot trash bags could be tied to the light standards. I kept picking up trash that people left setting on them, and had to walk over to the Tommy's truck to throw it away. Might save some work, just a NFG's idea.:D

  30. Good idea! "OR" people can make believe for the evening that they were NOT raised in fucking caves by animals and take their trash with them. Just a thought;)
