I LOVE the hair, Robert! It was nice meeting you and your car at Route 66 Saturday night.
Yes, you do look like Ted Nugent! Can I have your autograph?!
I'll get it Weds night on the BOULEVARD.

I just received it the other day.
    I ordered it on Amazon.com.
Today I received a copy of "Thunder and Lightning" with David Carradine and Kate Jackson, and I have copy of "Hotrod Hell" on it's way. Amazon has them all (no sales tax and free shipping)...can't beat that!

They also had the "Van Nuys Blvd" movie that I ordered. Really corny, like a bad porno, but very entertaining anyway for those of us that went to VNB in the late 70's!

Here's a true story...I was in the 7th grade at VNJrH. 1965 or 66..My older bro. Greg and his best friend Tim Ferraro got me hooked on Low 'n Slow Customs....
On wednesday nights I used to ride my steel wheeled skate board from Oxnard & Hazeltine to Van Nuys & Victory, and sit on the Florsheim flower planter to watch the cool cars cruise by... On one particular night I see this '63 or '64 Gran Prix or Bonneville...It's long, low, and dark...Except for the sides and B pillars..They're a silver color with some strange pattern ?! What da hell ?! Freakin' LACE !!!!! YUP !!!
Turns out, that was Larry Watson's first Lace paint job...
I told this story to Larry at Paso around 1995..He asked how old I was?? About 13 I guess...He says Damn, Dyed in wool Custom car guy huh ??? Yup...Still am...

    Just another old Greaser...

Here's something for you guys that drive Lowered cars...
Put 'em on the ground...You'll scrape off what ya don't need...........

  7. I have no problem with the length. It's the constant "flipping" during a conversation and DINNER, like a little bitch that drives me up a fucking wall:mad:

  8. I know and I do keep it in a hat alot too 'cause I don't like it either.

Awwww, c'mon Groucho, let him flip it! At our age, it's nice to have REAL hair to flip! Some guys have to wear the hat (some with the "fake hair") just to keep their head from freezing! LOL!

Robert, you keep flippin' - I got yer back!

  15. You got his back? GOOD!
Eat dinner across the table from him and TRY to keep your food down. It's fucking disgusting what he does. No bullshit

  16. I don't think GOTCHA can put down the crack pipe long enough to find me.

  17. Don't worry Grouch, I'll wear a hat wednesday.

  18. Much appreciated!;)

Gotcha, or John Goms likely got tossed because he was interesting, and stirred things up. It easy to beat up on a guy when he's not here to speak for himself.

Wasn't he the one who got everything stirred up about the heydays of Van Nuys, street racing & the boulevard?

Seems to me things are sleepier around here without him.

  22. NO! I started the thread "Who cruised Van Nuys Blvd in the 70's?" It got a reasonable amount of attention, then Reid ran with the idea of starting it back up. Pretty sure I did read somewhere that Gomms took credit for it though. Also, Bottle Bob started a street race story thread WHICH GOMMS NEVER REALLY ADDED TO as far as telling a story. He only added to it with rants

It's easy to hide behind a computer, thus it's popularity. I've been enjoying the old stories but this hot rod soap opera is for the birds.

Gotcha was in a different state and barking out orders, basically telling everybody he did it all BITD. It got old and a few on here jumped in with both feet to argue. I was at the first Van Nuys Blvd. gathering, there was nothing to bitch about. (Except the trash)
