    Wheel studs break???

It happened to me, once, about 30 years ago...and almost twice since. Now, every time I get an really old car, I change the wheel studs.

  8. Yeah I was following Groucho to the Runway Rumble Saturday and the wheel studs broke. I'm covered by Ins. but it still sucks.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you'll be at the next cruise.

  10. Nope, no way. There is too much to repair and we all know how long Ins. Companies can take to pay up. So maybe the next one after this one.

What time do the doors open? My daughter wants to go to Bob's on Friday, but I would definitely come out to this shindig after I drop her off.

Rob, I am sorry to see the pictures of your great white chewed up like that. What a mess. As long as you are OK.

I share your pain...I had total break failure (master cylinder) last Saturday while pulling the Chevelle out of the garage. Managed to make it to the Route 66 show in Canyon Country and back home again, but I'm a bit skittish with the Chevelle now. The breaks were acting wierd at the last VN cruise. I should have known something was wrong.

A flatbed is coming to take her to a specialty shop on Friday. Hopefully I will have it back before the next cruise. Otherwise I'll have to shotgun with someone.
Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

  17. If you'd taken it to Groucho's Performance, you'd have it back tomorrow:D

Here are 2 Van Nuys T-shirt designs that are available now. They come in Medium, Large, XL, XXL, and XXXL. They are not yet posted on my website,
but you can order one anyway. As you will note, they both have a part number. For ordering information email kentbash@earthlink.net

Also, there are plenty of those VNCA (Van Nuys Cruising Association) T-shirts available, and the proceeds from these shirts go to help with trash pickup,
printing flyers for the cruise, and for an information website for cruising Van Nuys Boulevard.

VNCruiser likely has some photos he can share that show the VNCA logo, and how it appears on the shirts. Contact this link for information. http://www.vannuyscruisingassociation.com/

Don't worry, no one is taking you for an Einstein. Apparently the center of your universe revolves around a joint while sitting on the couch. Noting is ever accomplished by those who sit and wine & bitch. Everyone who does anything worth doing is constantly accosted by those who do nothing, which is really a cover up for their own inaction. The dream killer couch potatoes.

  24. hey bob you coming down to the next one? we need you to bring your camera and capture some of the action (cars, girls, and cruizin)

    Hey Hotrodbob,

Looks like this thread has run into a ditch or something. Maybe another good story about Van Nuys Boulevard might help get this thing started up again.

A while back I asked if anyone heard one of those stories about Don Prudhomme driving TV Tommy Ivo's twin engine Buick dragster through the Van Nuys Bob's?

Actually, It was TV Tommy himself who drove the twin engine dragster through Bob's, however it was the Toluca Lake Bob's, not the Van Nuys Bob's.

Tom was and is a Burbank boy, and while he originally built his T-Roadster PU to cruise Van Nuys Boulevard, his hangout was the Toluca Lake Bob's, while Don's was the Van Nuys Bob's.
