BITD it was all about cruising and getting laid, not necessarily in that order. A custom van provided the means to do both and it saved lots of $$ on motel bills.

  6. NOT someone elses....FUCK THAT! I had lunch w/Rob today. I made him pre pony tail before even showing up at the burger joint. He was clearly in emotion distress not having that mess flopping in his food:eek:. Which, BTW, you NEED to witness at least once. You too will change your mind:p

Parking issues? Signs? RULES?:confused: I have a BAD feeling that all the petty crap being brought up is slowly spelling the end. AGAIN.

I hope it doesn't happen, but the writing is on the wall.

  9. So, is the Rydell lot gonna exist any longer?

What started out as a slow and steady stream of cars showing up at Rydel about 3:30 p.m. turned into the biggest cruise night yet! Only the first cruise night rivaled what I witnessed this past Wednesday. I saw more new faces and vehicles than on previous cruise nights. With the exception of a few knuckleheads, this night set the standard for other cruises in the future. It still remains to be seen what the impact of losing the lot in the near future will bring. I don't know if the intersection of Van Nuys and Burbank will remain the central point of the Boulevard once the lot is no longer available. Reid spoke with the Manager of Ralph's and it seems that the problems that have arose with them, boil down to one lone individual that closes the store on Wednesday night. Otherwise, the use of that lot remains as a viable option. The LAPD dedicated a couple of black and whites to the event to monitor the street activity and squash any problamatic individuals who willfully display their lack of self control in this type of environment. The last thing we need is to bring negative attention to what has evolved into a brotherhood of cruisers of all ages and backgrounds that together have made this event as successful as it has been for all of us so far. I'm still uploading my pics, should have them up soon.

  11. Yo Grouch,
We always hear this debate going back + forth. I asked reid this question. He has not heard any different. So yes I believe that it will be there.

Thank you vncruiser . Ok, I finally got the 300+ pics uploaded. Sit back, relax, throw on some tunes and enjoy the slideshow. By the way, the VC Rides.com photographer and I were practically sharing the same real estate for most of our pics. So many of our pics look practically the same. Sorry about that, although I did get there much earlier, and have more pics of the cars in the parking lot. Either way, it's nice to share my passion of cars and photography with you guys/girls. Enjoy...

well let me say I have not yet got both feet up on the politically correct band wagon so let me apologize if I offended anyone(especially the lot guy) by callin the lot guy a bad word. Then let me go on to say my petty comment may have overshadowed my more important and huge enjoyment of these cruises(where yes I actually cruise even almost alone on the rain night last month you wimps)and let me thank the people who are helping make it rock without being rude THANK YOU

Parking Issues- its just certain people feel higher then others for whatever reason and they decide to park just about anywhere which isn't cool at all and just causes problems. If theres no parking in the lot then hey arrive earlier next time or park on the street like everyone else. This past cruise was the first that i actually stayed from 5 - 9 and i saw plenty of spots STILL open at 8 near the back of the lot by burbank, BUT the thing is everyone wants a spot under the light so instead of parking by the Burbank section they circle and circle the lot hoping for a spot to open up under one of the bright lights...

Signs- If your talking about the saem signs that i think your talking about then everyone should follow what they say. Its the VNCA staff thats holding up those signs for a reason so everyone should follow them because if it wasn't for them many of us would still have to drive to Burbank, Northridge, West Hills for a cruise. The lot gets full and after a bit its open again.

RULES- I pulled this from the VNCA website
Please Remember- NO Light to Light Runs, NO Burn-Outs, NO
Open Headers, NO Drugs or Alcohol or Weapons...

i wouldn't even call these rules more like simple ways to insure your ass doesnt get a ticket

We ask that the lot be cleared out by 10:00 pm so we may clean up any mess that has been left behind by those less fortunate who should know better....

they're not even saying "move your ass by 10pm" THEY'RE ASKING.

if the Cruise gets canceled it will be because of the jerkoffs being idiots while they cruise. people seem to forget even though rush hour is suppose to end by 7pm its still a Wednesday and its Van Nuys Blvd. a street that always has traffic.

  18. The lot should not even be an issue. If it's full, go cruise for a bit and check back. If it's still full go cruise somemore. If it has an opening go park for abit and go cruise later. That's what we did back in the day. Why is this even an issue? This is a CRUISE NIGHT, not a Park n Pose night. Get a grip people. What are you going to do when we do lose the lot, stop the cruise again? NO! Your going to find someplace else on the BLVD to meet and cruise from there. Geniuses, F%$#KING GENIUSES.

It was purple, blue would have made sense but no, metallic purple with a shark painted on the side.

We kept driving around and people would look at us in my biddies 74 econoline and I'd lean out the window and ask if they wanted any candy, to get inside the van. Good stuff.

Cruised down to the Bob's Big Boy Broiler in Downey first, got some food, checked out the cars, stayed til 7:30 then cruised to the Van Nuys Blvd. cruise. Great to see the vans come out in force! I can't remember which car maker commercial that was on tv just a couple of months back with the slogan "Respect the van"!
