Hey guys, I am new here, and since everyone is talking paint,
I might as well ask a question. I have a 1930 Ford sedan, and my husband and I are in the process of building it. Well, this one is my car, and I am choosing everything. I want to paint the frame a loud green with flake.......Now for the stump, I don't know what kinda flake to go with (big or small) or what color.................Any suggestions...???
Jeez, I sure hope I am posting this correctly..........??????

    Doin' fine,Mama.

I would suggest using 2 sizes of flake-it's a trick we use when we don't want the candy to be overpowered by the flake. I did the roof with both micro (which is reealy small) and mini(which is significantly biger) and a dash or two of thier standar sized flake thrown in for good measure. the effect in the light it nothing less than stunning...you get bright spots of varying intensity, which adds to the overall "shimmer" effect, and the paint isn't so clotted by GIANT flake that it cuts down dramatically on between coat sanding.

another cool trick is to vary the colors of your flake- on the galaxie, we used silver and red flakes-alot of the colored flakes tend to lose some shine under the cand if it is nice and deep, where the silver seems to stay nice and bright.

for example, if it were my car, I would do a bright green candy with gold and silver flakes, with a top coat of solid candy- the varying colors would throw alot of light around, and the gold will cast a different color all together than the silver. add a touch of pearl in the last coat and it would be striking.
