The Rat Fink bike is on it's way to cruiser bike overkill. Unfortunatelly it will not be a limited production run like the Foose bike or the So-Cal or the Mooneyes bikes were. Sucks to have Big Daddy splashed all over.....

Check out Giant bicycles chopper they are coming out with. Go to your local bike shop to see it cause last I knew it wasn't on their web site yet.

IMO those bikes are super lame... the quality is super ultra Taiwan. with names like "rat rod" and that horrible ratfink bike I am sure they are in talks with Von Dutch right now...if you want a cool custom bike, just do what you do with your cars and buy an old schwinn and customize it yourself...

I did build my own original schwinn bike from the frame and fork up. I just posted the site here because of the parts they have more than the bikes. They have nice headsets, stems, bars, tires, etc. The bikes may be lame, but they didn't have anything cool/lame like that when I was a kid.

I didnt mean at all to poo poo your post farmerjohn. it was a good heads up.

IMO I do agree they have some cool parts, although they have their name on every part making it less desirable to put on another brand of bike.

this is true.....their name is somewhat stupid. i dig the sticker sets, but i'd rather have someone pull real lines on the bike. I just find it odd that like 4 or 5 years ago, cruisers were only popular among my surfing friends and Santa Cruz residents....now they're everywhere! even K-mart sells wide whites for 12 bucks each

You can also get a pretty sweet Schwinn with aluminum frame and rims at Target for $129. now that's a good start of a custom bike!

Pacific bikes bought the Schwinn name and now sells cheaply built bicycles carrying the name at discount stores, toy stores and major retail outlets! They did the same thing to Mongoose years ago as well!

If you want a Schwinn...hit the flea markets and garage sales...they're still out there!

(Forget the cheap junk with the Schwinn stickers on the racks at K-mart!)

Yup, they have a bunch of good parts, namely tires. I prefer however, to make (or modify) my own frames.

    I feel ya `HACK

what I meant is instead of buying a $400 taiwan Electra, just buy a $129 taiwan"Schwinn" at target and get to modding. Nothing, but nothing beats the real Chicago steel!

and Pacific was just sold again about 2 weeks ago...

I sell a whack of those Taiwan cruisers. That's what pays my bills. These bikes are just like most hot rod car guys these days. They buy them cause they want to belong in the click. Cars are cool these days, just see how many cruise-ins or shows there are. Nobody wants to let this piece of cool slip by them. Good thing for the rest of us we build our rides and we drive them.

Tell all your wanna be buddies to go to their local bike shop and buy a bike to keep us 2 wheeled guys in business. DON'T SUPPORT THE BIG BOX STORES........THE RUINING OF AMERICA!!!!!!

Scwhinn sold out...that's sad. I traded a real 80's $700 21 speed scwhinn road bike for my o.g. 50's Scwhinn cruiser frame and fork at some shop in Santa Cruz. I bet the welds on my old frame will far outlast any new bike, this thing is a damn tank. I have to get my rims trued every year cause it's so heavy.
