I'm just beginning the restoration of a 1953 road racing car known as the Mameco-Ardun. In 1953 this car raced at Pebble Beach, Golden Gate, Santa Barbara (won its class and 3rd overall, driven by Bill Pollack) and March Field.

The engine was a Mercury-Ardun built by CT Automotive.

I am hoping to make contact with Don Clark or Clem Tebow.

I would also be interested in corresponding with their families or anyone who worked at CT Automotive or anyone who remembers the car.

    Thanks!

Body of the car appears to be a Woodhill Wildfire or a Glasspar.

  5. Good luck with the resto, the car looks pretty awesome and obviously has a tonne of history behind it too.

Here's a colour pic of the racecar with the driver Warren Gerdes in the plaid shirt holding up the hood. I just got the pic the other day cos my girlfriend is his grand-daughter!

    Cheers,

    Tall Paul

Here is a Glaspar I built steel floors and firewall in, a few years ago. It is on a shortened 55 Chevy frame, they are an interesting car for sure.
