to those who took offence to my rant, i apologize...when the urban explorers posted this yard on line, it was like a free for all.... i showed up one sunday morning at 8am only to find a father and son removing a large quantity of 69 mustang parts into his truck that was backed against the fence...i've been threatened with injury with a large variety of tools, had a gun pulled on me in the early evening by some tourists borrowing parts.. i hope you will now realise the larger problem...to the gent who made comment about self importance and pushing 300...i also apologize...was on a rant...i posted my size because i am easy to spot in the yard...have escorted 100's of honorable, decent folks on treasure hunts..not trying to veil threats...just a little PO'd that the yard has made it back on the internet..again,you may contact me for info...everything is for sale...i would love to see this stuff moved to a good home....lots of good donor cars for those resto projects...all sizes of trucks also...thanks for letting me vent....have a most joyous holiday....

I'm thrilled to hear that it's not going to the crusher! That's awesome!

Sounds like you might make more giving $5 dollar tours to guys that just wanna look, admire and swap stories of what was, rather than selling cars/parts with today's economy! Some guys will pay just to look at what they want to have if you ain't got anything they need to have (according to the gf's and wives )!

No water....yer gonna die up there! Ha! (Junior's 2009)

Tony, this is very cool of you Bro! I received you PM offering me a private tour of the yard and I will deffinetely be contacting you! All bullshit aside I can see how frustrating it is to have scummers scimming off the top of your product. I know Spgill2000 knows all to well what it is to have people scavange your yard for parts, as he ran a yard in RI for quite awhile. We can appreciate the history of the old boneyards that are left in this state of CT which has a wicked tough DEP presance. Talk to you soon, Merry Christmas!

on Sat. past,a few folks who have posted to this thread had the opportunity to take a walk through the yard..i can't speak for them, but i got the impression that they were overwelmed with what is there...everything is for sale...we prefere to sell entire cars as donors...bring them home, harvest all you need for that project, then recoup a great portion of your initial layout in the scrap market..most are in the 750 to 1000 dollar range..some may be higher due to rarity...and of course some may be less...doesn't take long to reach that buying 1 piece at a time... contact me with your needs...i'll answer as best i can...sorry no W's, hemi's or other exotics..plenty of other early big inch motors..don't drag your feet...Tony is 86...we need to get this stuff out into the restoration market....for those into the swapmeet scene...there is a cache of good clean takeoff parts(removed and stored 30 years ago)...stored out of the weather that is available in lot form...IE. buy the entire box,not one piece...thanks for viewing...Tony...PLEASE NOTE...all cars are sold as junk, bill of sale only,no titles...they are parts cars unfit for hiway use..we have to stess that....you can't go to DMV and try to register it....titles were destroyed a long time ago...thanks again

Cool I have worked in scrap yards and the stuff that just walks away even in a well fenced and gated yard is surprising. No one needs a thief or worst yet a false story on the internet saying free stuff. I understand your frustration.

I read this thread ever so often and wonder if it would be worth making a run over just to see what is there. Now that we have someone that is helping run things I'd like to ask a few questions. When did the yard stop accepting cars & trucks? Are things somewat organized, can a vehicle be draged out without moving other cars out of the way? Winter time with things frozen into the ground is not the best time to try to save things. With so few yards left here in Connecticut it may be a good to see what things looked like back in the good old days. Merry Christmas!

I was there for 3 hours on saturday. If anyone is looking for an Edsel....there is one in there that looks pretty decent. Its teal and cream or teal and white. Still got most of its paint (although the paint is haggard looking from years of weather). Glass was in nice shape (can't remember if the windshield is complete but the rest of it was there). Body was in nice shape, no huge dents that i saw. There wasn't much rot; or no extreme rot from what i could see. I didn't get down on my hands an knees to look at it but if you're looking for a decent start or a really decent parts car...this one is it! I looked at A LOT of cars on saturday and can't remember specific details about the Edsel but it stood out in my mind.

Yard looks like it could be very wet in non-winter months. Everything is pretty frozen right now and all of the brush and trees have lost their leaves so its very good for walking and browsing. A lot of it is overgrown and most of the cars can be accessed relatively easily. There are some areas where there are rows and rows of cars that will have to be moved if you want a specific entire vehicle. The worst thing is the trees and overgrowth that have taken over the yard but we browsed the yard quite easily.

I've been following this thread since it started.... and I have been holding my tongue. I found myself getting increasingly aggravated. To the few of you who posted either rumor(s) or criticized the owner for whatever choices he has made... I remind you with this hobby comes etiquette. I would advise you to do some brushing up....

Bert, thank you once again for Saturday.

I'm hopeing for NO SNOW untill well after the next tour and my IH is back on all 6! I can understand all the hipe and advertizement on the web raises a red flag for the owner. Theres a lot of good folk here on the H.A.M.B. ,Not some free for the takeing site, WTF? Myself and my friends treat this kind of stuff as a museum, because it is.
