    LOVE it! Super clean.

Oh yeah I got that Lucas generator with the tach drive on the back, I haven't measured it yet, but it's a bit smaller than a stock 50's ford unit... I'll pm you some details tmw.

Don't listen to Doug look at what he builds, haha. The dash looks great.

  7. Very nice...still watching. I ran into the same dash issue [windshield regulator placement] so I used the top rail of the 34 ford dash and the bottom 2/3rds of a 34 chevy dash...welded 'em together.
    You'll have a locking glove box...mine won't.

    That Dash is Crazy cool!

  9. Rocky, Do you have pictures of your dash on your build thread? I wanna see that. I will be able to have a deep glovebox to lockup my chit when I'm at shows. I will build a steel glovebox to fit in there.
See Steve. I did use the dash after all this time. I'm slow but consistant. Or is that consistantly slow?

You've got your side windshield moldings in backwards.

  13. Thanks, Whoops! I have to modify them anyways after I chop the car. They will get blended into the dash a little bit.

  15. Hey Dale, looks great !

  16. Thanks Rob. You got any 1949 Ford chrome dash knobs, bezels, switches. I don't need any defrost cables here in the desert! Ha! I wanna use them on this dash. Anyone can respond as well.

  17. Great build. You've got a nice collection of parts the really work well together...

That dash looks killer! Love the direction this build is going!

  20. Went to the platers today to pick up a couple of pieces that I got chromed. I took a raised steering hoop and modified it some. Kinda gave it an Art Deco look I think, I was pretty pleased with how it came out. This will add some strenght to it as well as looking a little more custom. The other part was one of my small Eelco peanut breathers. I am still looking for a couple more if anyone sees it and has some. Cheers

  23. Scott, I am sorry it never worked out for me to stop by your shop when I was over there. I have not had anymore cars to haul to LB lately. I will get by sometime and hook up with you. Thanks Dale----- I might make it over for the car show in Pomona in Jan.

What do you have? I have an empty bay with cold welders. I'd like to turn the heat up.

While it's artful for sure, it's a good idea to try to cut down on unsprung weight whenever possible. It's been suggested as a major cause of front end wobble at speed.

  28. That's why I have a petite skinny wife instead of a fat plump one like a lot of car guys. To keep down on unnecessary unsprung weight. It should even out quite nicely wouldn't ya think Doug?
