Here is the top insert already painted. It was easier on a stand to paint. Old school flames. Look back a couple of pages.

This week I kept looking at my first attempt at paint and was not happy so I hit it with 800 grit and reshot the paint yesterday. Much happier now. Still some dust and few lil' runs to sand but much better. Not as dry looking in some spots like last time.

 

Beat the flat trend and nice SHINY paint good on you. It looks great

 

Yes, I'm so over the neglected look. Rust is not patina. It's neglect and indifference.

Mounted body today on ch***is, Actually it's just sitting on it. Still need to bolt it down and align doors. Progress I guess. Still need to do a lot but I dig it so much. Flames are coming.

 

Friggin' cool. **** that windshield's going to be pretty sleek.

 

Love - pipes, chrome splash panels, tone of white, profile, getting it done, and all the rest. So awesome to see this coming together, stoked for you, really cool to see it coming to life.

Not going to get anything done for a couple of weeks really as I have a memorial service to attend in Texas for my mother this coming weekend. It will be here when I get back. Thanks for the nice comments. It's happening.

Flames painted on the rest of the body. Just need to do some edge clean up and some overspray clean up before I show the pics. Here is a teaser. Seats should be done at the upholstery shop today. Progress. This picture makes it look like the whole car is red but it is not. Just 2/3's of it. ha!

Got my 1939 Beech 18 seats back from the trim shop . Basic black farm raised Naugahyde. I am pretty damn happy with them and they are comfortable as far as I can tell. High density foam helps a lot. One more piece of the hotrod puzzle.

 

Nice. The wife was farm raised and her Hyde is pretty comfortable.

 

It is really hard to get a decent shot of the flame job in my tiny shed but here it is. Still need wet sand and buff but I'm waiting a few days for that. I am really happy with the layout and the sheer late 50's vibe. Can't wait to get the rest of it together.
