Hot Rods Curious: Who all's got Model A's in the works?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Zenor, Oct 18, 2005.

  1. I've just started work in earnest on my 28 tudor. Cut all the brackets off the frame, and built a 5" kickup for the back. Got some repair work to do on the front crossmember, also got to build a K member. The 47 Ford mill is all ready to go, and I just need to find a replacement bottom cluster for the 39 transmission. The front end is 34, with 39 spindles, 39 brakes and 47 drums. The 35 wires have 5.00 tires mounted, so a mockup is not too far away.

Here's my 30 coupe. It's been an ongoing project for the last 37 years. I bought it in 1971, and started building. By the fall of 73 life got in the way. It sat for 33 years. Last summer I got a hair up my rear to put it back on the road.

It not mine but it is my Dads 29 Tudor. I have been helping him get it on the road. EVERYTHING mechanical including the engine and trans with the exception of the rear end have been replaced or rebuilt. That will be done over the winter and he will enjoy it most of next summer then body comes off.

Just bought this night before last. Not sure what to do with it. Like to do something different. Maybe a traditional full fendered coupe. Model A 010.jpg

The truck is a old hot rod build in the 1950's and needing some updating for modern driving. I plan on getting to it if someone doesn't need it more then me:D. Built in late 50's with a 265 & 3 speed then updated with a 283 & glide ... So who needs a truck:D

I have two 29s. The second will be a basic PkUp, with a 2.5 4 banger AMC/5sp and some parts I have gathered. Should be running soon. Hard to get parts here. Relocated Pittsburger, Ice man

I've got a super secret "Model A" project started. I actually need a model A frame with numbers on it so I can get a title, or at least frame rails......

  20. 29 Tudor. SBC 3x2's, 5 speed, dropped 32 heavy, 9". Had to replace the lower 6" all the way around, including substructure repairs. Rolls, steers. Engine partially assembled on stand. The frame isn't z'd, top isn't chopped, highboy on A frame.

Im making some progress, I just finshed chopping the doors and am currently working on the dash. I guess I need some up to date pics. I picked up from a fellow Hamber the 331 Hemi to 39 Ford trans adaptor I needed so things are looking better for the Hemi transplant.

Update: It's running now! I've put about 1200 miles on it since Thanksgiving weekend. But unfortunately I'll have to sell it now.
