Im just getting started on my A project rod.

I'll be slicing an dicing my '29 Tudor Sedan to serve as an extended cab pick-up of sorts. It'll be channeled over the custom frame, that I'm almost finished fabricating. In place of a bed, will be an section of an old aircraft wing/fuel tank. Sort of a budget version of Posies ThunderRoad project.

I'll post some pics when I'm a little further along. For now my rendering will have to do.

I think A's are getting so popular because decent ones are still pretty affordable and plentiful. They offer a lot more room and usabilty than a T and aren't nearly as pricey as a model B. For my money, they just have an old school cool factor too.

I finally got some pictures I will share! Looks like I'll need to resize 'em when I get home.

I can't wait to chop it, 4" seems to be the magical number to me. I'm a big guy, so I probably won't channel it.

I Z'ed the rear 6", front is 4" dropped axle with reverse eye springs. Vega box and stuff is in the mail, but that's a big block Chrysler, aluminum flywheel, an overdrive 4 speed, and an 8 3/4 with a 4.88 limited slip. Probably way too much gear, top speed @ 5500 rpm is 125 with the OD and 28 inch tall tires, but it's what I had laying around, and going fast is #1. It'll get 30" tall cheaters when it's ready.

The driver's side and roof are real rough, this thing was rolled way back when. I'll fix it when I get to it, my main concern is a safe running and driving car. That's not my Mustang, either....

  10. Wow, like a note in a bottle on the other side of the country. I painted those tweaked Mooneyes on that gas tank years ago, gave it to my friend to put in that cab cause his was rotted out when he bought it of some scumbag off Ebay, guy hosed him good and I felt bad and gave him some parts to make him not feel so bad. He then sold the cab to some guy in Cali and scrapped the rest, and now you have it. Pretty cool, glad she's alive an well, enjoy. Mel

I really like the look of that thing... can't put my finger on what it is - maybe the rear tires or the unchopped look. Cool, at any rate.

I've got mine finally started too, trying to get the body attatched to itself so i can lift it off, all the structural wood (front header, roof side pieces, b pillars) is gone, hammered out a few of the big dents and wrinkles, filled a bullet hole, gotta get some sheetmetal to patch the spare tire area...gonna order some wood and a front header to get things swuared up and then pull that sucker and sell the stuff i don't need to a restorer. So i've got the one roof side piece i have tacked in and trying to figure out how to get the drivers door to get closed, it must have gone all the way open HARD at some point, it bent the door right near the hinges, but even with the door skin straightened its still bad, maybe its the hinges ??
Here it is still the pics from the for sale ad, i'll get some more soon, it looks the same so i figger why post any new ones, when i get the body off i will.

shoot, you'll be better off in the coupe if space is of concern, roadsters are quite cramped compared to coupes

As of a few weeks ago.
I'm going to get some olive drab canvas to cover the top. Also making a new fuel tank to replace the keg....The keg looks out of place. The new tank will resemble a BOMB....
Now that the motor is broken in, also going to swap out the single four intake for a crossram w/a pair of 390's.

Oh yeah....and that rear view mirror has GOT to go!

Here's my low and slow '28 pickup, 59a flathead T-5 trans, 9" bronco axle. Hope to have it on the road next spring, maybe a couple of shake down runs on the frozen lake in February if I'm far enough along.

Started a 29 sedan build at the beginning of Sept. got all the body work done, now the frame is getting underway with my buddy Mike (aka Mike47 here on the HAMB) at his shop. We'll post some build pics up here soon.
