The Rigor Mortis is currently raced by Ron Carson. It is his Dad's Gasser from the 60's. It's great to have Ron & Bob (Ron's Dad) race with us. The car wears it's original paint from the 60's. Ron's brother Rob also races with us with the red primer 55 Chevy which is an old Modified Production car from the 60's. It was Ron's high school ride.

Doc, looking forward to seeing you again at the Old Tyme Drags at E'town next month. We'll have a few guys tearing it up on Saturday night too at "The Digs at E'town". Kinda stinks putting mufflers on a Gasser but those of us that have them will be making a few passes to help promote Sunday's race.

bulletproof1, yeah, I guess you should think long and hard before applying any lettering or any additional paint to your '53-- It looks pretty darn nice as is...

cgaswillys, I'm sure even "muffled" members of the East Coast Gassers club will be a treat for spectators at Saturday night's (July 23rd) "Digs At ETown" shindig... And of course there's no doubt that The East Coast Gassers will definitely be impressing the fans in the grandstands at Sunday's (July 24th) NOSTALGIA SUMMERNATIONALS at ETown... It's all gonna be a blast at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park...

Hey Finch - Thanks for posting the shot of my pal Ron Austin's Topolino. "Just a newer interpretation", indeed. This has been my scene for a while now and this thread is right on time. I try to blend in old parts as tastefully and organically as possible, but hey, I live in the present. Mainly because I can't afford the lowbuck nostalgic look...

superprojoe, Joe Jacono is one of the good people involved with this whole nostalgia drag racing genre-- He's one of the people who were actually "really there" back in the day and "lived it", but he doesn't act like a blowhard because of it-- He conducts himself respectfully like a gentleman-- I admire that in a man...

Speaking of men I admire... Here's "Big Daddy" Don Garlits at the wheel of "Swamp Rat 4" this is a video still shot from a previous ETown Nostalgia Summernationals event, an event that's going to be coming up on Sunday, July 24th...

Here are a couple from the "Night of Fire" June 25 at Grove Creek Dragway in MN. I talked to the owner of the '55 Chev at the GSTA show- I believe he said he had picked it up out west (Cali?) where it had been raced for many years. Very cool to see it out on the strip! The FED is one of the "O.F.T.A." cars (Old Farts' Timing Assn.) cars from the Twin Cities.
