Just saw this an screwbay thought it was worth posting http://stores.ebay.com/JEFFERIS-HOT-ROD-GLASS?_trksid=p4340.l2563
These have been around for years. I think it makes the windshield area look kinda weird or distorted. V-butted or stock divider looks correct. Flat glass should come to a point, not a rounded transition. IMO.
I wish I had 2 of them one to crap on and one to cover it up with. I just like the idea of flat glass, I don't know why.
All the answers from children aside some of the answers make sense and would be helpful so excuse the shit outta me for suggesting one may be interested in not having somethng in their field of view, thought this may be a site where a question/suggestion could be asked & receive an answer that may help out. thank you RICH B for being a gentileman and contributing some sane info
what was the question or suggestion? Either way not traditional. Id rather have a divider than a blurered strip.
Ever look threw one ? Shit, destorted as hell...I want a curved windshield I will Drive my wife's Mini Cooper. Flat or v-butt for me thanks.
I've installed a few. haven't seen one that I could drive around the block without getting dizzy. plus they look silly from the outside
Saw these at a vendor at a car show. I don't think I'd like one mostly because of the distortion in the center where they bend. It blocks even more of your vision than the divider bar does.
I have delt with one of these before working on a customers car. The biggest problem wasn't the distortion, it was sealing up the windshield in the bent area. No matter what you do, because the radius is so much bigger than the stock "V", the center rubber to body seams leak. You'll actually be much happier with a well installed stock or V-butt.
I know. Maybe you could just quit wearing your feelings on your sleeve. But if touchy feely is what you are after aside from being a little street roddy you should consider that the center bar does not really hurt your field of view any more than your rear view mirror. The blind spots on your truck are going to be drivers rear from 7 o'clock to about 10 o'clock and pass from about 4 o'clock to about 5:30. The way around those real blind spots are big ol gnarly west coasters with a fish eye on each one. You sure seem sensitive for a web foot at least any of them from my era.
Volvo sold such windshields for the 444 in the sixties so with new grill and taillighs it almost was like you had a 544 and a blindspot in the midle about 3 inch
