Hi All, I have been a longtime beneficiary of the knowledge here on the H.A.M.B, but I am now getting farther along on my 40 Ford restoration and there are some things I've had trouble solving on my own. I'm looking forward to interacting with the community and maybe getting a few things solved, but for now I just wanted to say hi. My dad has owned this car since '59 when he channeled it 6", and it has been parked for nearly 40 years (long before I came around). We pulled it up to the house after some local teenagers threw bricks through three of the windows a few years ago, and I have recently put a lot of time into getting it on the road. Still a lot of work left, however.
Hi , welcome! 40 Customs are way cool! Yours looks to be coming along well,... good luck. Lookin fward to progress pics. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Yeah I started on this project in April so I think it's coming along pretty well. There for a while it seemed like I was taking two steps back for every one step forward, but I have most of the major rehab done now. This was my dad's first car when he was in high school so its really cool to be getting it back on the road. I'll post some progress pics once I get the bodywork done and get it in paint.
I love the stance of the car. I also like the channel only concept. I'll look forward to seeing the progress.
Welcome to te HAMB SteelyJoe....forgive this "old" man,but I always thought an "Introduction "was telling of oneself...NOT YOUR CAR
Hi wbrw32. I guess I just thought my car was more interesting to talk about. I'm 28, from rural Illinois. I've always liked the old ways of doing things (not just hotrods), and most of the time I've found that if you want to learn the old ways you have to talk to the people who know the old ways first hand. Thats why I decided to join the H.A.M.B. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
