Thanks for posting the updated pics, this could be my favorite Paul Bragg kustom. Can't wait to see it finished. Happy Trails, Mick
I had noticed that too, and I went back to the photos me and Palle Johansen took of the car in 2010 when we visited Paul and Pat. And you can tell that the side trim is away from the body at the very end. I guess Paul modified that section of the body to follow the contour of the trim. Its rather obvious now the trim is not on the body, but I guess once the trim is mounted you wont even tell Paul did all the work to make it fit. But the trim will fit perfect, and that is what gets noticed.
Loving this thread. This sure looks like self-etch primer, is it? Curious about the exact process: self-etch, then high build, then block sand?
Well Rikster you did it again I just read all 16 pages of this thread and drooled over every picture. Paul when I win the lottery ......
MR BRAGG; you Sir have mad skills! bought a 54 merc when i saw yours but sold it when reality struck and realized i would never finish.it
To Mr Bragg and Rik.Thank you both for an outstanding display of craftsmanship and writing.I have followed the HAMB for several years before signing on recently.(I remember when this was called the"Half ***ed Message Board").Hehehe.I think that this is THE best thread that has yet been put up here.Thank you both.Oh yeah, and Ryan too for starting this quality site. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
Hi All, As always we have to thank Rik for posting our photos as we cannot do that, we don't have a clue what we are doing on the computer. I told Paul that I feel like a celebrity seeing my 54 Merc and my 41 Ford on the net. I know that it has taken a very long time for more photos to be posted but Paul is a very slow and meticulous craftsman. Also, Paul is getting older with lots of aches and pains which really dictates how much work he can do every day. We have been looking at colors for the cars but have not decided on anything yet. I am looking at the 54 Merc with gold on the upper body and a maroon on the lower body. I would like a dark plum on the 41 Ford but nothing is definite yet. It is still open to discussion. Once again thanks to one and all for your great interest and remarks. It really makes my day!!! PATTICAKE
Thanks to you and Paul for allowing us a look inside at all of Paul's fabulous work. Although I am sure we would all love to see updates everyday I can honestly say no matter how long they take they are always worth the wait.
Its always a treat checking out your craftsmanship, and tasteful lines Paul. Thanks to you and to Rik for sharing.
Paul Bragg send me some new photos of the progress he made on the 1941 Ford business Coupe Custom he is building for his wife Pat. The body was braced on the inside and is off the frame now, the frame has been metal worked on the rotisserie and is now powder coated. The engine is all dressed up, tested (sounds awesome, Paul mentioned) and ready to go back into the frame. Next up is some more metal work on the lower parts of the body and then its ***embly time. Paul is still planning to have his wife's 1954 Mercury at the Santa Maria Cruising Nationals, but time is running out fast...
Awesome! More pics please It was great to see Paul and his wife Pat this weekend at Santa Maria...always nice to talk kustoms with him.
Hi guys, 41 is back on the frame. Here are a few pictures. All suspension etc. rebuilt, painted or powder coated. It's a roller again. Lots of mechanical etc. left. Gettin there, slowly but surely. Tin Guy Paul Bragg
Can't get enough of this thread!! Workmanship is beyond words, old-time craftsmanship, please keep the updates coming...
It's great to see progress happening on the '41. I'm eager to see that car completed; it's gonna be a knockout.
@ Rik: did Paul also build a white Studebaker pickup with a Mercury front (hood, etc)? Or I'm a mixing up names?
Another update on Paul's 1941 Ford... the color has been decided. Here is what Paul wrote and send. I'm back to work, sort of. with injury, surgery and rehab I lost 3 months plus. All suspension, brakes, and plumbing are in. Firewall and inner front panels are jammed. Engine, trans, driveshaft, steering column and rediator are in. I Hope to get exhaust, e-brake, and fuel tank in so we will have a runner again. I want it back together before overall paint. Tinguy Paul Bragg and Patticake
