Customs Custom cars with hitches

I use mine all the time to haul as I do not own a truck

 

Saw this beauty from Michigan at Speedweek in 2019


Pretty sure the Olds will not be making that trek with our Spartan...but you never know, eh ??

 

We know that my car is not a custom but a hot rod with a tow hitch. I have posted this set up in the past but thought I would refresh it. Carl Fajastad built a 1/4 inch spreader bar and I added the receiver. Works great !

 

Custom cars with hitches? Yeah, we got that. The green Pontiac's Reese frame hitch helped keep the car that rear-ended us out of the back seat, but didn't provide much of a "crumple zone"...

 

Cool! We're prolly the only two people here with Spartans! The one at Bonneville belongs to our friends from Grand Rapids.

Remember when you lost the Pontiac tow rig too and that was a sad and disgusting day for sure, Brian.
The DeSoto turned out great and makes another cool Spartan Tow Rig

 

Makes me laugh when people think you can't tow with anything less than a modern Allison-powered dually. Drive to conditions.

The green vehicle below has 138 cubes of spine snapping power, four wheel unboosted drums and three unsynchonised gears. It has done a lot of highway miles with various trailers behind it.

The red one is a little heftier (327). It's just as happy on the track, chasing groceries or towing the FED trailer.
