Here's the only picture I have of my 61 Vette that I built right after I got out of the army in 1969. It had a hood scoop that was grafter on from a 64 Vette to make room for the 427 Chevy big block that I stuffed in. I built my own fenderwell headers and raised the front end 2.5 inches and put 4.56 gears in the rear. The car went like hell and was considered to be the fastest car in town...Not that I ever raced it on the street
That was another project waiting in the wings to be brought back form the dead.....Only non GM car I owned back in the day.
Some more of my favorites! Hopefully you guys enjoy them as much as I do! @Moriarity car is still at the top of the list for my all time favorite!
That's about the coolest shot I've ever seen of an early Corvette, not sure if it's the white paint, the stance, the girl, the ocean or a combination of all four but I like it! Or a little trickery? Hmmm...!!! http://www.wheelsareeverything.com/2017/10/1954-corvette.html
Gotta say I’m really enjoying this thread. When I was a kid in the ‘60’s custom Corvettes were super cool. 6 taillights, flared fenders, side pipes, shaved bumpers, like shown here. Somewhere along the line that changed. To me, not for the better.
I don't know the history of this one. It was posted by Bill Carlsen on NASCAR SANCTIONED ISLIP SPEEDWAY FANS 1 FaceBook Page.
