I have got a 49 chevy chop top that I will be starting on if I dont sell it. I would love to suicide the doors, and put a lip over the headlights like a 57 Chevy I have a pair of 57 front fenders that I can cut the hole section off but I hate to cut it if it wont work. I would also like to do something cooool to the taillights. I dont want the usual roll pan with lights I want to keep my bumper. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you're talkin about the truck in your avitar. I think the 57 headlight rings are a little too square for the earlier years.

I put 56 Olds headlight buckets and rings on my Chevy. I had homemade frenched and hooded units before that. I don't have any close ups of the homemade set up. They got destroyed in a hit and run accident.

    Hey,

Suiside doors , done correctly, are as much if not more work than
a light chop. Are we talkin a truck or car? '57 headlamp doors and
fender ends, on a truck fender would be tough to pull off, well. On
a car, doable, and a different route from the Olds headlamp/ fender
treatments, sometimes seen. There are some '57 headlamp doors
in the classifieds , here on the HAMB, now.
