So i see alot of PUSH CARS, i have a pedal car for my daughter and want to make it a push car, does any one have pics of how to make it so you can use the front wheels as steering instead making them non functional?

Yeah i've gone thru the whole topic and seen alot of wagons and pedal cars but majority have there own custom built frames.

I was wondering if any one has made a push cart with stock front and back axles. Also with being able to make the front wheels turn with the rear handle?

One thing i thought of was maybe using small springs attached to ea side of the front wheel axle and then attach them to a made bracket somewere towards the rear that will connect to the handle when turned L or R?????

I went with a pull style, still needs some bodywork, inner fenders and the stacks installed. He picked his color this weekend, and is super excited about "his car"

I dont really think there is much of a way to use the stock setup and turn it while pushing. especially if youre wanting it for a stroller, youd have a hard time making a floor without building a new frame.

Here are some photos of a pedal station wagon that I got at the swap meet in Stockton a couple of weeks ago. This is the way it was when I got it.

And this is what it looks like now after I removed most of the blue paint.

I was told that it is a 54 BMC. Does anyone know where I can get any of the missing parts? Headlight, hub caps, hood ornament, windshield...

Hello, all...New here. In short, I decided to build a wagon for my nephew. The songs remains the same..." a weekend and 25 bucks will give me...ahhmm my nephew a pretty cool wagon to cruise. I new I wanted it to pull as a wagon and to be used as a stroller. Now the fun begins.

OK, so I have the desired stance... I have a wish list. Drop I-beam axle, Z'd frame, rear pie crust tires, etc. The steering scared me so I'll worry about that later. First for the wooden "gates". Re-purposed some old pallets. I recessed black oxide socket heads into the uprights so they could rust a little. T-nuts for low profile in the tub. The fresh-cut portions of the would was aged with a rub consisting of water and charcoal. I'll shape the uprights later. Squaring off the wood in the corners doesn't appeal to me , so I carried on a "fin", and incorporated a radial cut-out that was concentric with the tire and axle.

Blue Diamond has parts for your BMC. They bought out some of the smaller pedal car companies and are a division of Speedway Motors. I have also dealt with Portell Restorations (www.pedalcarparts.com).
Parts are not cheap so do a little shopping around.
Good luck you have a nice looking project there.

Wicked, great frame... simple, effective. Gettin' the axle comin' around. I used strap on the bottom to make the I-beam, but used plate on the top cut to look like strap. This affords me the ability to bolt the axle to the underside of the frame.

You should add this to the home-made i-beam axle thread !!

I love it...makes me wanna make something for my nephew...only I know it'd be more for me...he's only 3 and might not appreciate the super cool factor for a few more years.

Setting the stance for Z-ing the frame front and rear. measure 20 times cut ummm... twice. forward 3 deg.
