very very cool... I also like how you used the stock 40 chevy parking lights and mounted them to stands off of the bumper irons.. My pops has a 40 chevy and the one thing I dislike about them in stock configuration is all the **** piled on top of the fenders..

    looks really good...

Oh **** now, let's be reasonable. I don't agree, but that's THE nicest compliment I have ever got, ever, for anything.

Wow. I wanna be cleatus when I grow up. Ever since I saw the roof chop photos a couple years back, that has been favourite HAMB car hands-down.

This is why I come here.

Brilliant work. This is what seperates the men from the boys.
Lookit how much work put into a subtle body mod that 99% of the world will never notice.

    You rule.

It's ****s that the gaudy **** with fins on top of fins and more scopps than Baskin Robbins gets all the attention.

Nah, I'd have to totally disagree with that. Those subtleties make your car stand out. Everything flows together very well.

  18. Godamn, I love that thing...you got the fenders perfect!

One of the best designed Kustoms around period.

    Cheers

As said many times before- incredible job!!

But mostly, thank you for taking the time to post so many pictures and explain what you do. I am one of the unwashed that probably would not notice the subtle things you do to that car unless you took the time to show and educate.

    Thank You.

Cleatus, I dedicated an entire thread to finding 'more pics' of your Chevy a while back. I thought it was gorgeous then, and I was right.

Switching up the fenders was pure genius. That car is certainly the most amazing custom I've ever seen due to it's shape and finesse. It is as graceful as all the old customizers hoped to achieve, although few did. To put you in a category with Barris and those other guys really is appropriate. I know you're not pushing customs out the door for profit like they were, so in that way you're not the same. But if you could measure something as subjective as style and cl***, your Chevy would be a**** the best. And you seem like a nice guy to boot.

    Thanks for sharing.

All these guys who don't know would **** if they saw what you started with...

Do you still have any pics?

Here's a bit of a critique of sorts...

To me with the front fenders peaked so much, it makes the back fenders seem like they just slope off the body. From what I can tell, it's only noticeable in the front shots. From that angle, the rear fenders just look like p***ive bumps on the rear of the car that seem to clash a little with the aggressive peaks in the front. It almost looks a little 'over-molded' if you know what I mean.

Do you see that too? The circled area...

It's just a minor thing that seemed to jump out at me and seem a little out of place. Your car rules the way it is!

Sure. I've spent so much time starring at this thing - no one know's it's flaws better than I.

One thing I've learned from building something that is basically just one compound curve flowing into another and another and another, is that there is always a bad angle to something. Something that looks great from most angles looks bad from another.

I drive myself nuts second-guessing everything, but at some point I have to accept that it's nearly impossible to make something that looks right from every angle.

Also, keep in-mind that this is the one and only car I have ever built and everything thing I do is a learning experience. :)

    OK..

I really am not criticizing. It's minor and I wasn't sure if it was just the camera angle or not. Not suggesting that you should change anything...

I guess if you didn't drive yourself nuts, you wouldn't have cut up some perfectly good fenders to add a peak. ;)
