T coupe body,392 hemi, new frame, you're on the way buddy ! The final engine trans mount location is not known..so built a sliding/adjustable trans mount. Bit different then what we normally do. Suicide mount up front. Using the new Pete and Jakes spring behind set up. 4 link and bags on the rear. Wish I had time to bolt it all together for pictures but this is shipping outa here today. Ol' 772_Humphrey better take some good pictures to share. " I don't always use beer cans for jack stands, but when I do I prefer Miller High Life" e
man i do like your work . i am still trying to scrape up some cash for one of your frames for my 31 model A , but seems like everytime i get the money , something unexpected comes up and takes priority .
Nice work Eric. I really like the sliding trans mount. Very smart! 392 and no X member? Just wondrin' Pete
MGD cans just don't have what it takes to hold up a frame. I was thinking maybe some tall boys? 24 oz Old English maybe? Striper, it's just a start,he's going to add to it. Bones27t- you're looking at $2,200.oo or so depends on spec's.(PM me)
So will the trans mount be welded in when the location is finalized, if not how will the sliding mount react under acceleration? How much of total range do you have (I guess it would be limited to how parrallel to two side bars are)? Do you think there will be any vibration (and noise) without a damper in between the two pieces of tubing? I think the design is great, I am not trying to criticize just trying to figure out the mechanics of having a metal on metal adjustable trans cross member held in place by "compression" of one tube over another. This to me appears to be a great approach that would allow one to evolve a build from say a 4 speed trans and upgrade to a 5sp od trans later on.
