So, your heals sit down in each stirup? The control cabes must be routed back inside the tube seat frame??
If that thing has much of any power at all, brake steering would be more effective, like a wheel stander car. Left stirup left wheel right stirup -right.............kidding.

That looks like 2 solex 40's on maybe dualport intakes. I play with VWs and can maybe answer questions.

wild1, I got a lead for you. I picked up some cheap older mags yesterday at a flea market. I was flipping through them and ran across this in Hot Rod Magazine February 1974. Coverage of the Third Annual San Francisco Car Show lists it as Tom McKibben's. Looks like the wheels were all chrome and it had Porsche power at that time.

Sorry it took so long. The throttle is down with the left hand and from left seat and the Chrome Stirrups are the Clutch and Brake. Then the Shifter is on the back between seats. It's a hand full.

Looks like a good starting point for searching the history of it.

I rode a couple of those XW trikes in the 70's and I have a bit of advice - be damn careful when you corner as the bike will push the front wheel sideways real hard.

Having said that I love 60's show vehicles be they road worthy or not, just because of the over the top styling. That one (in my view) is sooo fine. I say press on.

ps: the chain is a nice touch and I wouldn't take it off, 'specially if you're gonna ride it over any railroad tracks. ; )

  10. I remember this from the shows in the Bay Area. I went to all of them.

  11. I remember that one well;a lot of engineering went into it. I'll have to dig out some pics of it.
