That is going to be a sharp windshield set up. Are you planning to glue the glass in with urathane, butyl or put it in with a rubber glass setting tape?
actually says "sweeper ahead"...just "er" are covered in dirt thanks for the scribe link i'm going to glue it in and probably source some rubber channel for the bottom. Tman mentioned some in a previous post....i will be painting this car so i think glass to paint will cause some damage....its the first car that i'm going to try and achieve a "pro" finish... the top is stock 1925 as it sits, except for the piece between A hoop and B hoop, so that part is a bonus....basicly just move the mount straight down about 9"....even tho the w/s looks tall the top is quite low.........i tried to get in it ....not fun ....lol
bct, Have you considered using the diamond foot theme as on the center post over to your side posts? Just me musing on possibilities! Thanx also for the scribe info and link.
when you build something from nothing, you consider everything...thanks.. i wanted to use the stock bolt holes...threaded rod will be welded to the backside of the foot print so they won't be seen...the holes there now will be filled. new, better fitting, glass templates made...this w/e i'll post some more pics here...
Very nicely done - I agree on the rubber at the bottom or building a lower frame section like a Duvall to better control the potential for glass breakage. I really like how the center post has been formed - you make it appear simple to duplicate but the end result looks like a very complex fabrication. Well done. Steve
thanks guys....lots of cowls out there with no posts so i figured this would be helpful....thought i'd post a pic of my patterns there will be few more and a glass template redo...but if anyone ever tries this then this pic may help...
Great work on the windshield. I have a chambers log scriber, and never thought of using it that way, now I will.
ha! 2nd house . 1.75 kids and a career change. just rolling with the punches. but trust me it felt really good to pick up after so long.
