Anyone got any late 50's / early 60's period customising tips? I've got a 54 Dodge thats about to undergo some treatment, i.e. frenched headlights, more lowering at the rear.. I'm looking for the el-cheapo high school cruiser style custom.
With the era you want to picture in mind, I'm thinkin' Tailfins, quad headlights, tubegrill front and back. going wild a section would be nice
With the era you want to picture in mind, I'm thinkin' Tailfins, quad headlights, tubegrill front and back. If you want to be going wild, a section would be nice. I'd say a little lift in the back with radiused wheel wells would suit the style better.
All these ideas sound cool althouth I've never been big on tube grilles or sectioning. The flathead definitely stays, with headers, shaved head and a modified induction system. What about through the bumper exhausts and skinny whitewalls? How is it you Swedish guys continue to turn out some of the coolest old skool rods and kustoms? Is it something to do with extreme cold temperatures? Keep up the good work..
How about dragway 5 spokes and pinner w/walls say 1/2.Then dropped about 3" or on Bags plus tha accessory style spot lights , sun visor Etc.4 tha classic l you,ll nail tha Early lowrider look.OR? how about nosed&decked retain tha grill centre Bar & ditch tha rest & french some Blinkers in {believe me its way cool lookin.]Ditch those bumper over riders ,flip over tha rear bumper and tuck it in close 4 tha classic trad look ,how about 50 ford tailights and wind splits OR FC tailights & EH headlight rims. Please wack a colour on it even if its suede. Why do old skool cars appear to be in black&white these days?.
Take some pictures of your car and post them up here. We'll make some changes in Photoshop and try out some ideas. '54 Dodge is a neat car that would take some mild customizing really well.
