Ok my 55 I’m building has disks up front and drums out back. I’m trying to gather all my parts to make her stop! 67 mustang m/c and I read that a 62-63 F100 booster will work. With this set up do I try to find a original brake pedal ***embly or buy a aftermarket one that bolts in?
    Thanks- Brandon

  2. Look for a '67 to mid/late '70s Ford truck booster. These will be a lot easier to find than the earlier units. There's some monkey-motion involved with the brake pedal-to-booster linkage and slight mods to the booster mount but is nearly a bolt-in. Use the OEM pedal.

Thanks. If I can’t find a reasonable priced used 55-56 brake pedal ***embly, would this work ?

  4. Not without much more work than what I mentioned. Unless you're running a six cylinder, the booster needs to move up to clear the V8 head. The truck booster has an intermediate bracket with linkage that does that.

The brake booster shoots the whole ***embly pretty far from the firewall, so I kept my car manual and it stops fine. I also have a vacuum issue with the cam I'm running.
