Anyone can makes claims, and especialy if their reputation is mared by questionable behavior in the past, claims mean nothing.

Your ****y at***ude is only digging your hole here deeper. I'd suggest you go actually build the car your claiming you can build, and when thats done, and you have paid back everyone you owe money too (thats all of them, not just most of them), come back, and show everyone how much water your claims hold.

Until them, your just talk, along with evidence that severely negates your claims.

Again, you have a lot of excuses, for everything. I have never seen anyone with that way of life go far. Interestingly, I have also never met or known a tallented car builder who had an excuse for everything they did. Quality car builders are generaly go-getters, they get things done through perseverence and hard work. You appear to display the opposite of those qualities. Sorry, not trying to be cruel, just my observation.

Now, I have to get back to work on my custom (3 years in the works now), my welds have cooled by now...

ive built more things then i have pictures of. theres lots of my fabrication and welding at a few shops that no longer want to be known for having me work there, for shipping parts reasons here on the hamb. theres a big difference between being ****y and confident i can do something. i never said im ****ing master i said i could do it, and im not scared. 50,000 doller custom that needs a chop, bring it on. would i spend more time on a car then 3 days, yes! of course. but all i was saying was that i COULD chop a car in 3 days.

all of you are just hating on me because of my bad shipping status/thinking i robbed people.

god i would SO love to get the chance to one day prove myself to you guys, which is pretty lame considering i shouldnt have to prove anything to anyone.

if you dont think i have those qualitys then you dont know me at all. everything you know about me is what you read on the internet. you dont know me personally, you dont see what ive done in real life, and you dont know what i have to work with.

id love to see all of YOUR custom cars. but you cant just show me them, you need to show me every car youve built before you are 23. in fact. show me the car you chopped when you were 18 years old. you guys can talk **** about me all day long; but in the end im still 23 years old, and still doing it, and still having fun. even if i gotta do it alone, without any ones help.

I hope to stop by Rudy's place very soon and take some pics. This will be a finished custom when I spoke to Rudy about month or so ago. Paul is a lucky SOB!

  10. Why are so many people jumping on one guy's work?

So what if it's ****ty, he knows it's ****ty, but at least he's working on an old car instead of a Honda, and trying to build it traditionally. You have to learn somehow. I ****ed up a '51 Chevy pretty good myself when I was 18, trying to put it on a '79 Buick frame and floors.

Homemade galvanized tin patch panels have been around forever, the '50 Chevy I have now was last worked on in the late 60s or early 70s - it had a 1972 inspection sticker in it - and one lower quarter is made of different squares of tin, pop-riveted on, and either leaded or bondoed over - the car has both lead AND bondo on it. Spots on the front fenders are also patched that way. It looks like the only actual patch panels they bought for it were the rockers, and to patch the floors they used part of some kind of old sign too. Oh yeah, and the right quarter has a patch made out of a 4dr quarter panel - both the rear of it and a section cut out of a door - complete with 3" gap between them that's where the lead and bondo combined both are.

I didn't give a ****, it was a $200 car that ran pretty good. If anything it's old-school work. Maybe someday I'll redo it - the wheel arches don't even match side to side - but for now it's fine. It makes a good excuse to cut it up further.

  11. I think he wants to see your weenie.

He comes off sounding jealous of something. Anyone can criticize other people's stuff on the internet; it usually means they don't know **** and would be lucky to figure out how to change a tire or check the oil.

It may only seem like they are dying out. In the past you had major builders like, George Barris, Darrel Starbird, Gene Winfield, Ed Roth (Big Daddy) so every few weeks or a month one of them was gracing the cover of a car mag with a picture of their latest creation. Seems like now It is only Boyd Cottington or Chip Foose that you see regularly. Chip turns some pretty nice semi custom cars, nothing as radical as the pioneers listed above.

please, id really love to know whats so "****py" about it??? and dont just say "because youre an ***hole" i want real answers. i cant fix what im not aware of.

  17. Ahh. Like I said, anyone can run his keyboard and try to start **** with people, and that's all I've seen you do anywhere, especially on this thread. If your goal is getting the thread closed, you're doing a good job.

If you have all these rides to put together and work on, you wouldn't have time to sit here diddling with yourself. Say what you want, I've heard the same **** a zillion times before and could care less, it sounds just like every nasty note some clown on eBay sends because they're pissed that we have something and we found it first. Doesn't mean any more to me now than the first time.

    -------------

Why is it ****py work? Because this guy says so, I guess, he has nothing better to do than sit here and try to yank on your chain and be a ****head. He's the world internet expert on what kind of work is ****py or not. Jesus himself could build a car and he'd find something wrong with how it was done. I wouldn't pay any attention to it, he must have something nasty jammed up in his C-notch.

Although the may not be builders in the sense that they don't do the work on their own cars there are quite a few guys producing customs every year like John D'agostino, Richard Zocchi and Rick Dore and there are builders like Oz Welch, John Aeillo and the Lucky 7 crew that build alot of customs and get alot of press coverage. So they are definitely out there.

    civilized debate is dead, huh?
you know what would be novel idea? A message board for car people to share info, contemplate ideas, and dig for answers...
    you know, something constructive.

  24. Gotta agree with Flipper...picked up a primo 33 cab, etc in Bakersfield about a month ago and I am only a few months away from being on the road...conversely I started 2 1/2 years ago on my 63 Riviera and it is just now getting completed and is by no means a radical custom just a mild nip and tuck and embellishment here and there...hope to have it cruizable by Labor Day...still got wheels and tires (later this week)...need Fisk to lay down some lines...spray the batwing air cleaner...wire it up...finish up the interior...new steering wheel...tunes...2 1/2 years and I still have all that to do and spend bux on...

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a thing about customs, but I have noticed most folks here like to add a custom touch or two to their rod. I do see a good bit on here though. Of course it's still less than the hot rod oriented folks. Nothing wrong with either though. :)

These things have always run in cycles and trends. I'm gonna' do whatever strikes my fancy in the future;..it may be another hotrod, or possibly a "custom"; .....I'm not particularly concrened with what's hot & what's not! I do what I'm interested in. The rest can & will do as they please. They always have!

...in constant pursuit of that illusive 700th post!

Draggin, just a word of advice...next time before you perform the chop, its better to align the bodypanels FIRST then to do it AFTER the chop.... check your bodyline on the door and then look where it lines up on the body....How do you plan on getting that to line up now?

    heck...you asked...
