Even if it sounds good and the workmanship is decent, sometimes it just doesn’t work. I saw this at lunch today and while the work looked ok, there was something about it that just didn’t work. At least it didn’t work for my taste. Perhaps the owner loves it. To each their own.

While not my thing, shortened tri-5 fordors were somewhat popular with the drag race crowd in the Pacific Northwest in the 1960's-1970's.

  7. I would like to know why shorties exist ?!?

    honestly , why ?

The proportions are all off , it’s not a “Radical custom “. As most of them are “ restored. “ if I can use that term real loose !!

not really sure I would call this a custom , just a bad idea .

    But again , why ?

other "customs gone wrong" are are cars with top completely chopped off and only have chopped windshield left - could not figure out how to chop complete roof correctly

  9. theres a 55 Chevy for sale local to me like this , the car looks very 90’s early 00’s with a lot of billet stuff on it , I think it was a 4 door originally , roof cut off parade style with a flat and straight windshield .
Looks like the workman ship is good , but he’s asking big bucks for what I would call a silly car with a limited market .

  10. Instead of a "Nomad" let's just agree to shorten it to a "No"!

  11. A few years back there was a shortened tri five chevy at the Nashville Goodguys event. It had also been narrowed so that it looked like a 3/4 midget. I had a photo of it but can't find it.

  18. I agree with chop top tri-fives look silly , there’s 2 for sale here locally . Issue I find is most guys go for an “ extreme chop “ and the proportions are all off .

@Moriarity the chop works so well on your car as it was done “ right “ as you say . Almost can’t tell it’s chopped , the car is clean and classy and while your eye ( my eye anyways ) is drawn to the front and rear treatments , the chop goes almost unnoticed , it simply adds to the car without being a focal point .

In my opinion, thus is the most beautiful custom of pretty much all time. The roof is done so well, and the rear is so well done and matches the car as far as being symmetrical. The color is not common but it matches the car. It has class and style.
Now this is where I may get banned but the Aztec is just gaudy and went to far.

Do what ever trips your trigger with your car, I don't have to like it, its not my car.
Someone else will like it (most likely), so don't worry about what the others think or say.

There is room in the car world for everything. Even chopped cars and ugly customs! :p :D

When I was a kid there was a 56 Ford 4dr shortened and they left the roof off. It looked a LOT like a 56 Thunderbird. It looked real good, made me think of a fun car for college kids.

Every one has an opinion and and yea even a Moderator.

It wasn’t my cup of tea. But I deleted my opinion so I wouldn’t make anyone feel bad.

I should have just sent Bill a PM as he’s a buddy.

    Thanks for the call out.
