History Customs on the streets of Salinas 1960

This just posted on Youtube, home movies from the streets of Salinas in 1960, going by the cars in view. Ranging from full customs to mildly modified older 4 doors with the rear door handles shaved.

 

2.06 does it for me. I liked it when the girl sat close.

 

Great film,some of those kustoms were pretty new when filmed too.is that a kelison at 9.03 in the background?

 

Suddenly Last Summer with Liz Taylor and Montgomery Clift is showing at the Del Rey (6:05). Since this picture was released in 1959 it would place this home movie in 1959 or 1960. I did see a couple of 1960 model cars so, late 1959 at the earliest.

Also at 2:24 the marquee shows The Gene Krupa Story with Sal Mineo and Battle of the Coral Sea, both released 1959. Which shows this film was shot on different days.
