Does anyone know of anyone making a new, bolt-on cut-down windshield for a 1930 Model A roadster? Thanks!
I would like to get everything brand-new. The old posts and windshield frame are in pretty rough shape with all kinds of extra holes and such and I am not sure if the glass is laminated or just nasty old plate! I believe I did look in the Speedway catalog but will look again – – I am guessing they didn't have what I wanted. Any other sources?
I call the old stuff Guillotine Glass. It will turn into knives if it gets broken. I have a lot of it at home in a bunch of assorted frames I've got. In my book it's only really good as a template but I grew up in the safety glass era.
I got everything windshield from Mac's Ford Parts. I then cut the frame to fit my 4.5" chop and had my local automotive glass shop cut the proper glass and epoxy it in place. Not real cheap, but if you want everything new, this is the way to go. Wuga
I used a 30/31 deluxe frame which is 2" shorter than the standard. Then used '32 stanchions. Let's you lean the windshield back some but still kinda fit at bottom.
