I just bought a 37 Chevy 2dr Master in an estate sale to use as a parts car for my 38. This is a rust free car that the owner cut off the frame at the Firewall. He must of had a master plan but no body knows what it was. I just might try to continue the project if anyone out there has any idea what it was. Thanks in advance

Maybe he was going to drop it on a 4x4 chassis ?

Most likely, the plan was to put in a nova/camaro front clip. It's a popular swap on fat fender cars and trucks. Thirties cars...not so much.

Someone had done the same thing on my '34 Chevy...unfortunately, on a '34 Chevy, the clip wouldn't work due to fender clearance issues on the upper control arms. Of course, the genius had a solution for that too: he cut out and promptly threw away the offending sections of otherwise super solid '34 Master Fenders (they sell for about $2K a pair now).

I ended up using the front rails of a '38 Dodge with an added benefit of significantly lowering the front of the car due to arches the Dodge had over the axle. I actually probably need to raise the frame up on the suspension now for a little more tire to fender clearance.

That may have been the part his "good" car needed back in the 70's or 80's. Or the frame may have been bent up front and he cut it off planning to put a new front section on it. If the cuts were matched one side to the other and precisely sawed through I'd think that was the plan.
