I have to say, I have a new found respect for a friends chopped 57 nomad. He cut all the gl***, including the curved side gl*** with a high speed air grinder with super thin discs. taped the gl***, started softly grinding while another person held a water hose on the work. changed the discs a bunch of times, (said he got so he could feel it getting packed with debris). most importantly, he took his time. On a side note, chopped 57 chevy nomads are not as cool looking as they might sound. Just doesn't sit right. (my .02 cents) your opinion may vary
Wow! I'd like to see that! I believe you, I've just never seen it done. Sounds like a good way to cut curved laminated gl***. Any pics?
I've been in the gl*** business for over 25 years. I've heard many horror stories from customers taking on cutting or installing autogl***. I've never once heard a successful attempt from a novice. Yes, it's not rocket science, but a acquired skill. Go to a gl*** shop for your needs.
You could always spend a quarter mil and buy a CNC water jet cutting machine and go into the gl*** cutting busines.....
