Cutting Grooves in Tires?

    Hope you all don't mind I'll be posting here a lot but got lots of questions because I am gathering parts for my project.

    I love the sidewall look on the Firestone cheater slicks with the black wall, and piecrust ribbed sides, but because I live in NY I obviously cannot have slicks here cause it rains. Is there a way to cut grooves to make this a usable tire in rain, or is there a tire like this with grooves?

  3. just buy yourself a grooving iron and do them to your liking,,,,Speedway sells groovers.
     
  4. I've run on slicks in ny and haven't had much problem in the rain

  5. Slicks in the rain, you have a window on the rear as well, what's your problem?

    If they are d.o.t approved I wouldn't mess with them. I would just run something else In the winter time.

    I heard a Lot of bad things happening on the road in rain with slicks, there is even a thread here on a disatster that happened with them. Anyway I think im gonna get a grooving iron a cut a couple extra grooves in there, or even make a design with grooves, ive seen tire art when people make designs with grooves may do that... Thanks!
