Hi, yes I am a new user to this site so go easy on me. This may seem like a silly question but do all cutting wheels cut through stainless, or just the ones marked INOX ? I found these ones on ebay (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/smith-and-arrow__W0QQ_armrsZ1). They look fantastic, and they are marked INOX. Any comments?”

Welcome to the hamb. Any metal cut off wheel like that should go through stainless. Those say made in china so something tells me those are no different than the Harbor freight ones..

Same junk as Harbor Freight ! If you have ever seen what happens when the cheap ones come apart then you will buy from someplace else . As for the Harbor Freight tools , they are real hard to beat for the money and hold up well too !
Buy some good cut off wheels for safety sake !

Its funny cause I had gone through all my sait discs and needed to finish something up so I went ahead and grabbed 3 packs of 10 for 5$ at HF thinking I'll burn through all of them in a day and grab some good ones later...that was like two months ago! I must have gotten a good pack or something.

I buy good quality 4 1/2 inch discs at fastenall in my town. Usually get Matabo brand super slicers for stainless....they aren't cheap but they last a long time and leave less mess than burning through a dozen HF china ones....I did buy a box of cheapies from Ebay ONCE.....they last about 12 seconds before turning to dust...I think they are Russian made!!!!

  10. I agree with getting good ones, I got a "deal" on ebay for 200 3" discs. I could not even cut thru a 1/2" piece of electrical conduit without having to replace the disc. what a bunch of ****.

I like the 41/2 discs at HF don't like the 4" there are two types they sell here the ones in the blue pack work well. Others don't. Thats my opinion.

    Hey,

If you're gonna buy cheap cut-off wheels, buy a full face shield with them!
At the very least, leave the guard in place on the tool and ware goggles when they're in use. I've shattered good discs before, doing nothing stupid!
I'll shut up now and stop sounding like your old man.

  13. I use cheap 4 1/2 1mm thick you chew through them.Remeber only use a fresh one on stainless eg:not one you used on mild steel or you will have little rusty bits on your cut edge.
