I realize that this is a little late but I just blew in from the coast......saw a lot of really great pics and coverage of the LA Roadster Show since I got home from California......I stayed on for a week with friends and did a great road trip up to Yosemite, Bodie Ghost Town, over to the coast at Santa Cruz and then down the coast through Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur and the rest to Cambria where I toured the Hearst Castle........and a lot more......but for our purposes here on the HAMB, I'll just cover the trip down in the *WhyGoBy Garage* Deuce Phaeton.........along the high Sierras and through the Mojave Desert to Pomona.......

I flew to Reno to join my good pal, Doug Clem at the WhyGoBy Garage and Meyer Family Racing Museum......we headed out on Wedsnesday down Route 395 and took in a lot of grt scenery along the way to Bishop, CA where we'd meet up with the *Peckerheads* from Carson City, Nevada.......you may have seen their killer '34 hot rods on the February 2009 issue of Rod & Custom........check them out.......

    Off we go......

We had a stopover at the El Rancho in Bishop, CA It was here that the Peckerheads caught up to us and we joined forces for the rest of the run down US 395.....

Rory Forbes and his dad, Ray were along.....

    Rest stop near Mt. Whitney....

A bit farther down the road Ray Forbes lost his brakes......so, it was onto the trailer for him the rest of the way to Pomona....
