Technical CWC Camshaft specs - Need some help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wizard of Oz, Jan 29, 2024.

  1. Folks, I have a CWC camshaft - perfectly new and unused but I can't determine the engine it is for - I am assuming a SBC.

    The details I have are:
serial number on the bolt end of the shaft - 41263S
Cast numbers located in between the lobes are: CWC K34 USA1 D10 21

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks. 20240129_104608.jpg 20240129_104532.jpg 20240129_104522.jpg 20240129_104512.jpg 20240129_104456.jpg 20240129_104448.jpg 20240129_104441.jpg

Are there any number's on the back end of the cam, or any marking's at all for that matter? That number on the front look's to be 412639.

  3. CWC is where the casting originated. They provided most of cam cores for as long as I can remember.

Yep. Anybody could have ground it. @Pete1 Has been around cams a long time and may be able to help. You could jig it all up with a degree wheel and a dial indicator and check it yourself. There is a machine called a Cam Doctor that will check it, some professional engine builders have one, as do most racing associations that require crate motors or spec engines. Not sure what that would cost you. Might be cheaper and faster to just buy a good known cam/lifters from a reputable manufacturer. Good Luck.
