Ok i did a search found nothing. I recently aquired a cyclone tripple carb intake for a 235 chevy(pics to come soon). I have been trying to gather some more information on it but have found nothing. I know that cyclone speed parts are really rare and that they were produced by cooks machine shop? in los angeles(i hope thats correct) Anything else? I have only seen one other cyclone tripple carb intake for an inline 235 but it differs from mine by how the carbs are mounted. Any info would help.

    This is kinda funny....
Do a search here on the HAMB for "Cyclone Kevin", Kevin is a HAMB Alliance Vendor!
He offers all kinds of Cyclone Speed Parts. As a matter of fact the last I heard he was still using Cooks Machine shop! Crazy huh man!

Yeah, give Kevin a call or PM him, his parts are REALLY NICE! I bought a set of Flathead Heads as well as a 3 pot Manifold & a Generator Bracket, he offers all kinds of goodies, I cannot say about the Chevy stuff, but he may offer that as well.
Like I said, he's a HAMB Alliance Vendor so you should be able to get some info or parts.

Let me know if this is helpful!

    Sincerely,
    Cheatercarl

    Hmm... I think someone's cheating.

On a serious note, this has got me thinking if it's a good idea to check the product before installation.

Well done on the find Witold - I gotta see pics of that one.

Kevin and I talked extensively on all things Cyclone when I was in LA, including Stovebolt intakes. I'd like to see this intake.

In spite of what has been written above, I'D like to say Kevin is a great advocate for real nostalgia and has worked tirelessly to bring these products back to the market. I found him genuine, and I know he would stand behind his product if it was delivered in a less than satisfactory standard.

I think you are correct Kurtis!
It's funny, in this little world we have of hotrodding & customizing, who does the quality control on some of these "New" products? Or even the customer service end of it?
I understand if you buy an original part from a swap or ebay or someone in the classifieds & it is "as is" or has lots of miles on it, what ever it maybe it is a used part, but the reproductions that are being offered, I guess it's just "buyer beware" wether it's a ALLIANCE Vendor or some speed catalog part.
Well this thread has gotten a little off topic, but that maybe a good thing, it might open some eyes & make people care about what they are offering.

    I agree 100%!
Kevin is totally into it, I don't think Petes post was/is a personal thing, Kevins mission ro recreate nostalgic parts is FANTASTIC, I'm in full support of it, like I said I ordered his heads, manifold & a Gen. Bracket, but good intentions don't always translate to good things.
It's a fact that lots of new reproduction parts are not up to standards, BUT who is to say the originals were any better? I have 2 sets of NOS Navarro heads, that I purchased FROM Mr. Navarro years ago (I still have his hand written reciept!...so cool!), & they were off slightly when we CC'd the chambers, but you know what, I could care less, Factory Ford heads are NOT perfect either, some vary by 10 cc's!
I think the point of Petes comment was to say... hey, folks are spending big bucks to recreate the coolness of the past & they just want to get quality & service for thier dollar or Euro in Petes case.
    Maybe I'm wrong,
    SIncerely,

I've got both an Ellis and a Cyclone dual intake for early Chevy sixes, and although they look similar, there are enough differences to make me believe that they are not cast from the same mold.

Carl, I've tried to help you... and think I've gone above and beyond. Why the snarky remark... "Soon to be deleted, I'm sure."

I'm a bit confused. Have I done you wrong in some way? I would appreciate upfront communication rather than back side remarks.

To be clear, we do hold our Alliance Vendors responsible for good customer service. I've had one complaint about Cyclone and it was from Carl. I've addressed the issue with Kevin at Cyclone and he is working to make it right. Carl has been more than patient and I think Kevin understands this. Carl is not an Alliance Member, but I'm still working to resolve the issue... because I think it's the right thing to do... or I thought it was.

Now... As for Cyclone parts. I ordered a 3-deuce intake, got it in 3 to 4 weeks and it was as expected. Before ordering, I did check with Kevin to see about availability.

Side note, I've been to Cook's Machine Shop, still in the same location, still awesome. A couple of scenes from the upcoming film release Deuce Of Spades were shot there with my car in the background.
I got to know Kevin at the shoot, a really cool guy.

OF COURSE YOU got your parts in 3-4 weeks... You are RYAN! Like anyone is gonna dick you around! I checked w/Kevin before ordering as well, BUT that did not make any difference, I still waited for nearlly a year to get parts, when I did get them some were "used" & I never got the rest of my order since!
And just cuz you have not recieved any other complaints about Cyclone it doesn't mean there are not any... after I posted yesterday I got a PM from a member telling me they waited for a year to get parts from him!
And for the record, at the time of ordering w/Cyclone & Kevin, I WAS an ALLIANCE MEMBER! but I have since chosen not to renew my membership.

So anyway, sorry about the snarky remarks, it not frustration w/you, who in their right mind would NOT be pissed off & opened there mouth by now? My remarks may not have been warranted, but I am NOT the bad guy here Ryan. This particular vendors practices are what I questioned & rightfully so, if you or anyone else can justify how Kevin has handled this situation up to now I would LOVE to hear it.

As you can see I have deleted my frustrations. I Thank you again for dealing w/Kevin, but won't hold my breath on getting the rest of my order anytime soon or anytime at all.

    Sincerely,
    Cheatercarl

I have no vested interests here, only in understanding the truth and always an interest in the business of hotrodding. Perhaps it is time for CycloneKevin to join the discussion?

In the future, I would appreciate it if you would just be open about your issues with me rather than the sly stuff. I realize you are frustrated and frankly, I would be too... But making blind accusations about my moderating (I don't delete legitimate beefs and never have) isn't going to get you anywhere. Hell, for proof just search "Coker." We've fielded plenty of complaints about them... and Corky is one of my best pals.

In any case, I'm still here to help. And regardless of any lapse on Cyclone's part, I'm pretty confident Kevin will make it right with you. And I'll put my money where my mouth is. If Kevin doesn't come through, I will personally refund you the money out of my own pocket.

    Helluva offer, Ryan.

Uneeded, though, I'm sure. I've ordered from Kevin, emailed, and spoken with him on the phone too. As most people on this board know, He's a stand up, class act. And he's just a real nice guy!

Chill out Carl, he'll take care of it.

With all due sincerity that is very commendable on your part, and like I have said before, I really do apprectiate your help w/this at any level. Your confidence in Kevin is somewhat reasurring, that being said, at the risk of sounding skeptical, how long should I wait this time before contacting you, considering it was two weeks ago that Kevin was given my shipping information? I'm sure he is busy, we all are, but if it is an "in stock" part that is offered for sale by him & considering the situation/circumstances one would think it should not take much longer than a week, maybe 2 to pack up & send off a part, do you agree?

Ryan, Kevin, this is NOT a money issue, it is an issue of principle, YOU both know all of the details & there is no reason to share anymore of them on the board, I do NOT want your money or Kevins, I just want the part I ordered.

Again, thanks & I appologize about the sly wise ass comments.
    Sincerely,
    Cheatercarl

This is one bizarre thread. Things just seem to disappear. The last one (gone now) was the best of the bunch and spot on.

Yeah... As I said, I'm cool with constructive crit... and even some frustration venting. I am not, however, cool with shit talking.

Come on Ryan, are you serious....the guy is telling me to chill out, I think I have been chill long enough.
Fine, I didn't have to give him the shot about kissing ass, but the rest was right on!
I told you, I am NOT the bad guy in all this,

so here, I will stand up for myself...AGAIN!

2nd & maybe most importantly, I agree w/you regarding Kevin, he is stand up, classy & a hard ass worker, We have chatted one another up many a time, I even have his home phone. I have the utmost respect for him, his efforts & his passion for hotrodding. That is not what the issue is, and since the issue is one you know nothing of maybe you should mind your own business on this one, not for my sake, but for the sake of others involved.

Please Ryan, do not try to make me sound like I am bitter or bent on revenge. If you are going to delete my posts for standing up for myself but let someone call me out & make look like a kook that is just complaining? It's either all right or all wrong.

By the way, here is a copy of the PM I immediately sent 38 Flattie.

Dude, let it go, Ryan is trying to make it right, YOU don't know anything about any of this, if you did, you would NOT have told me to chill out, that I can guarantee, why do you think Ryan is trying to get this taken care of instead of telling me to chill out? It's NOT cuz he likes me, it's cuz he knows the whole story.
Like I said in the deleted post, I agree w/YOU, Kevin is a really great dude, as a person. Somethings just went a certain way & have been kept private for a long time, a LONG time, the time to "chill out" is done & gone. Things were yet to be resolved, issues were maid public that probably should not have been. Ryan is doing what anyone w/any bit of class & pride of reputation would do, what you or I would do, I respect him & his efforts.
Sorry for bieng a dick to you on the board, it's not my style, but you kinda came at me w/out knowing what was going on, so I snapped back. Ryan knows that, that's why he deleted my jerk post to you & your 2nd one to me.
