Is there a way to install a folding convt top on a Downs Laid back roadster, I know there are no side windows which is another issue.
My concern is I want to go on the power tour but what happens if it starts raining . please any ideas would be appreciated

That particular body style may be way too OT for this house.

As far as "a way" that is probably going to depend on how creative you are at either designing or fabricating.

If memory serves right back a few years ago I saw an article on a folding frame for a "roadster top" that had the top material separate from the frame. You set the frame up on the body and then installed the top material over it rather than fold or remove it as a unit. I can't say if that was for a hot rod, kit car or ?? though. The problem with that is that it ate up valuable trunk space.

How about filling out the whole title of your thread.

If you got a hardtop with yours you could go the wrecking yard and salvage an electric retractable hardtop mechanism from a Benz or whatever and replace the skin with yours. You won't have a trunk but it would be damn cool and you're going to pull a trailer anyway. That would be a kick ass project!
