I knew there was one I was forgetting off the top of my head. Thanks! Thanks Petejoe! I was hoping my post would make sense, and not just come across like me being a jerk.
Not everyone has a $100.00 per month cell phone with built in camera, or sees any need to have one. Bob
If you can find a good deal, try a smart phone for 1 month, a free trial or something. You'll never look back, honestly. Even my ornery Dad converted, and he still haggles with hardware store cashiers over prices of brand new items like he's in a fish market in the third world. Once he was untethered from his ancient tan colored pc with CRT monitor he was a new man. There are unlimited data no contract $35 month plans. I fought getting one at first cause I'm a luddite too.
Larry, hope you are doing well! As I said a few years ago posting pics of events here for the handful of people that appreciated them wasn't worth the time for the lack of views so you won't see events any more from me. I still post the occasional pic on various threads but that's it.
I've always enjoyed your event coverage. Check out Dave's event coverage from Del Mar. https://www.flickr.com/photos/socalcarculture/sets/72157668645351111/
Chip, Way back on page one on your first group of photos (photo # 6) is of my 32 Ford 3 widow with my wife behind the opened trunk lid and I am just to your left as you were taking the shot. DAM! I have wanted to meet you for years and we were that close and never met. May-be next time Chip...Thanks for taking the photo of my deuce and posting it.
Damn! Next year I won't be riding, I'll be back in something of my own, and time will be mine. I'll slow down, I promise!!! Stunning three window!
Just to please my curiosity Is that a Flat-cad, with a blower, zoomies, triple Stromberg's and nicely surrounded by a black modified? With V-belt pullies and idler. RHD Deep channel (and double z'ed frame) and nice lean on the windshield, but I don't get the copper tank. I would love to try that in a Dragmaster frame. Still hot, but odd.
Then once you're addicted, the money part kicks in!! I've got enough problems trying to stay off of the HAMB on my desk top. Lotta nice pictures- thanks ( whatever the source)
uh did you want a little cheese with that whine? I want to say something a little OT for this thread. At least once a week the missus asks me how you are doing. its fuckin killin' me man. Not jealousy, don't even go there, I always tell her that you are doin' fine. If you aint fine I am goin' to get beat like a naughty puppy when she finds out. Get fine my friend, there will always be another show. OK back on topic, you are absolutely right, we really need more coverage, as well as a couple of other things that we used to just take for granted.
Some Hot Rod pics that I took years ago.... Kustom Kemps Hangin Dice show Fort Smith Arkansas. Check out that Merc in the back ground.
I thought I was the last person on earth without one. Yeah, just what I want more ways for people to bother me.
Not that I need to open a can of worms more, but what does make it a clown car? Because I like the Flat-cad, the blower, the carbs, the zoomies, the windshield rake and v-belt blower drive with idler. And I know they went all in, but I also think they went a little over board. But it's not like it's piss-poor ugly with Fad T assesories outs bum hole and or a RR. It funny I know what a RR is, and i know an Trad hot rod from a Era Perfect rod, but I can't see when it becomes a clown car.
I'll start it off: Channeling is one thing, but setting the whole grill and front down into the frame, and setting the entire body down so low to the ground . . . a bit over the top, too close to cartoonish (IMHO)
That's great to hear. We really wouldn't want you to have to try to deal with a device that was way smarter than you .
Like many, I made a pass through the swap meet but focused primarily whole cars for sale. I knew if I ever started looking at individual parts... It really had many, many interesting cars and parts; many I thought were priced quite reasonably but what do I know? It was my first time at the LARS but I loved it.
If my good digital camera (Canon EOS 5D Mark II) was lost of stolen I would seriously consider using my IPhone 6 for every day photos along with my old film camera (Minolta SRT101 from about 1971) when I needed high resolution pictures (to blow up and hang on the wall). Charlie Stephens
Posting pics from the app is kind of a pain, but here's some for you to peruse: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...ore-il-fizz-ehrler-memorial-car-show.1028007/ It's no LARS, but it's local with a good turnout.
Larry, fwiw, you can check my albums for a SHITLOAD of Deuce day pics. I put them there because there are some bikes, jags and street rods, I didn't feel like censoring myself. Will probably do the same thing for Ocean Park this year.
