  4. just found this thread, you are in the right place for info. i have got alot of advice on this site,

i build my car with a very tight budget by scrounging around and learning from the older folks. dont hesitate to ask questions

my grandpa gave me his 53 studebaker pickup IMO one of the best looking trucks when done right, ill never sale that truck..i love my little model A cause i built it myself, but that truck means the world to me. keep the project no matter what..

So very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. It is obvious you loved him a lot and are respecting his memory by finishing this car to honor him. :)

You asked for suggestions, and the only one I can offer is to make the car safe and build it strong. The only area I see that I would possibly redo is the way the front spring and radius rods are mounted to the axle. It is difficult to properly make brackets for an early pickup axle to turn it into a traverse spring configuration, but it has been done successfully by some rodders. I realize yours isn't finish welded yet, but I think even when it is done it will not be exactly right.

I do like the fact that the bracketry is bolted, rather than welded, to the axle, but I just think the brackets themselves could be done a little better, Sorry to mention that, but I would rather see you and your passengers safe than hold up mentioning that to you.

Good luck with the build. Your Pop will be there with you all the way. :)

    Don

You might contact Ron Pope at RPM Industries. I think Ron makes a bolt on bracket to do what you need, and his prices are as low as I have ever seen. A nice guy to boot.
