What constitutes a "real Dago" axle? I had a guy tell me the other day a Dago axle had to have a stretched narrow section in the dropped area. Really? I always thought that was LESS desirable trait!! Any body got an answer about this this? BILL RINADI
The real "dago" axles were done by Stewart's speed shop in San Diego They were reportedly done by a local blacksmith , and are pretty crude looking but strong they were heated and hammered opposed to heated and stretched like a mor~ drop... Dago axle eventually became slang for just a dropped axle for many hot rodders around the country however
