How many of you drive your cars every day. I live in New England and was wondering if any body else tries driving the winters in their older car

While I was building my AV8 roadster, I drove a '63 1/2 Falcon hardtop. It had a built 289 4-speed with 4:11's. It was a blast to drive until the snow flew. I drove it for two years without a hitch. I'm currently looking for an old Ford pick-up for a daily driver to replace my 2000 S-10.

  3. Our newest car is a 65 pontiac. It'll be going soon, when I get our 61 nomad done.I drive my roadster as much as I can,as long as it aint pourin'.........Shiny

I just stopped driving my 51 Chevy yesterday, I'm sure you know why. If it were'nt for the 17 mile drive to & from work, the SUV driving super heros and the abundance of salt thrown on the roads, I'd stil drive it in the snow.

I drove my '67 skylark 2 dr. hardtop everyday for the last 8 years, until this Sept, when my wife got a new car and I got the old one. I can tell you, driving it in the snow, even with snow tires was a pain in the ass. My dad used to drive his '63 bonneville year round everyday until a couple years ago. Once I was driving it in january and someone stopped me to tell me they had some wheels that would fit it. I told them, "oh, I have wheels, these are the snow tires" they almost died. I guess they thought that I'd just taken it out on a nice day, not that I was just driving it because it's just a CAR

Both my 66 Fargo and 64 Stude Daytona are year round drivers, and both perform very well in the snow and cold

Usually, the daily driver duties get split between the 40 coupe and the 41 pickup, but since both those junkpiles are currently giving me a hard time, the 29 hiboy has been getting me around for the last couple of weeks. Lots of fun, but a little cool at 0530 in the morning......

  10. Since dondanno talked me into it, I have been driving ny 62 Ranchero every day. My 96 Dodge truck sits in the driveway. Driving to work is fun again, although the vacuum wipers make it a little hairy sometines.....

  11. Still drivin' this... rain or shine...

My '57 F-100 has been my first successful daily driver AND hot rod project. Not always the most dependable, but often a consistent daily driver. Since I bought 'er 2 years ago, only a partial engine rebuild and the current paint-prep project have kept me from driving it daily. Plan on a major rebuild of the mill to make it even more dependable, for when the next project rod comes along. Daily driver rods rock!

    Howza Bruthas,
When we moved up here two tears ago, the Sledsel was my daily driver for about 4 months. That was until the gas prices really spiraled! Now, the Lemon Krate does the duty.

My first car in 1998 was a '71 Ford Torino, daily driver. It sucked in the snow and the salt destroyed the car's structural integrity, it seriously ruined a good car.

I drive winter beaters now. If I move where there is mild climate, it will be an old ride.

dig the Ranchero KUSTOMCHOPS!!! super cool!! [IMG]

when i was 17-18 i drove my 63 Impala year round. i hated to do it cause it WAS a nice car and the roads up here really suck in the winter (lots-o-salt). i spun it around a couple times driving like it was'nt slippery. only hit one thing though and that was one of those little reflector poles. did'nt notice the dent in the fender for two days. when i was younger i always drove myhot rods daily. it was all i could afford. now i drive the the wife's hand me down 96 Sunfire. i drive that and shee drives this every day (it's an 02).....
