i'll be in krum working on my truck. for those interested, krum is on 156 between ponder and I35. my cell is 940-595-0597 for directions. i'll be there around 2:30 or so. it's really no big thing. just old car guys, beer, and b.s. it's no rockabilly get together, but the beer is cold, the stories are good, and it's where my truck is, so i'm there anyway.

as for clubs....you guys are in the wrong ones.

i can't remember the street, but if you're on 156 and come to the four way stop, you'll turn east . take the road to the right, just before the tracks. we're down on the right about a block.

and we don't discriminate against street rods, hot rods, etc... and there's generally country music playing.

seems almost like there should be two nights. A max and relax night out and another night for garage meets....all on a come if you can basis. Alot of interest here, would be a shame to not come to any conclusions.

 

This is looking much better for D/FW HAMBers. Now we have a shop GTG in Wylie on Friday and a GTG in Arlington on Friday. With a metroplex this big and the amount of HAMBers in this area it should be like this all the time....Too Cool!

yeah car clubs DO suck........ they all get jackets and then FORGET they're in a club and still think they're cool wearing the jackets alone. At The McDonalds Cruise nite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, I will drive over after work.

 

Just moved the shop...still in Wylie, but now in a much bigger space. It will take a week or so to get organized and comfortable. I am willing to have a garage night out at the shop and will be ready to lend a hand to anyone needing some help. I know that I am out of the way for some, but the shop is located just a few mintues from George Bush tollway.

Shop has:

cold beer, 2 helve hammers, 6 foot brake, welders, plasma cutter (heavy duty unit), plannishing hammer, english wheel, shrinker/strechers, band saw, large sandblast cabinet and outside pressure pot, beverly shear, 18 and 16 gauge steel sheet and .060 sheet aluminum in stock, lift, complete wood shop, paint booth (must bring your own gun!), no neighbors, yak..yak...yak

all this is to say is that there is a lot of talk about getting together, let's make it happen. I would love to go out to other areas but the wagon is about to go under the knife so I wouldn't have anything to drive for awhile besides the shop truck...

 

i would be up for something happening in wide awake wylie (you guys are probably too young to remember that) as i'm about five minutes from there. i can't believe none of you go to the dairyette on ferguson in east dallas on friday nights. talk about traditional, i don't think anythings changed at that place since 1956.

 

For once I agree with you! I am going out of town this weekend. If you guys get this thing going, and it becomes a regular "thing",then I might attend. Untill then I will save my gas money and keep my lazy ass indoors. Great idea, make it work!
