I saw that there were only 465 views on the original post w/ a headline that didn't emphasize the pure bliss of this piece of footage. http://horsepowerheaven.com/video_all/2005 videos/05seattlegoodguys.wmv If that doesn't work, go here: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69666&&showall=1 It's so good it hurts.
You see the size of those rear tires on that Chevelle? And that last one sideways down the whole quartermile? Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!
Fuck the video...go see the nostalgia drags in person. I've been to SIR once for that, and it was worth the whole trip. The dense woods with all the looming serial killers adds a nice touch, too.
Footage is GREAT. The Horsepower Heaven website is fantastic. Those bleachers were empty. Empty bleachers garantee 25 foot long commercial drag racing until that changes. There are 2000 people in the world that know what's good...It looks like some of them were there. MIKE BOYD IS A BAD MOTHERF***ER.
Damn, Boyds run was wild, carryin' the wheels crossed up like a sprinter. That's knowing a car when you can stay in it like that.
that winged alter had the wheels crossed up, good thing the front did not come down and put it into the wall I think I have seen the Chevelle before when I lived up that way. supersized tires...
It's so good it hurts.[/QUOTE] OH MAMA!! I'm hurtin' all over. Thanks for sharing it (again). Absolutely some of the best vintage racing footage I've seen.
Always loved the Fuel Altereds. Remember Pacers out of Long Island, I think, at Island Dragway, Great Meadows, NJ.
